Behind every thriving entrepreneur, there is an ecosystem and behind every ecosystem, there are organizations working to make it function. 🌍✨ At this year’s Conecta Summit Africa, we’re opening space for three key conversations shaping the future of entrepreneurship across the continent: 💡 The ESO-Centric Ecosystem What does it look like to move beyond fragmented, entrepreneur-only approaches and instead center the organizations supporting them? This conversation explores how ESOs can move from survival mode to becoming stable, learning-oriented institutions delivering quality support at scale. 🏥 Building Healthcare Ecosystems Healthcare innovation depends on more than ideas: it requires navigating complex systems. This track explores how to connect entrepreneurs with regulators, providers, and funders so solutions can move from concept to real-world impact. 💰 Financing the Ecosystem While funding often reaches entrepreneurs, the organizations supporting them are rarely financed sustainably. This conversation looks at how we rethink funding models to support both entrepreneurs and the ESOs behind them. All of these conversations are grounded in real experiences across the continent, and in the belief that stronger ecosystems are built together. 🤝 👉 Sign up to be part of the conversation: https://luma.com/y17rz3tw International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs Impact Investors Foundation (IIF) AfriLabs Bridge for Billions

Access. Co-presenting the launch of the Caribbean Playbook for Innovation Ecosystem Actors brought one issue into sharper focus for me. Across the region, entrepreneurs are shaping solutions in areas like climate resilience, education, agriculture, and finance. Behind each of them is a network of organisations often working quietly and with limited resources to support their growth. As part of the dynamic team contributing to this Playbook, developed by Bridge for Billions through the CARIBEquity Facility with the support of IDB Lab and the European Union, that reality became even more apparent. As we think about strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems across the Caribbean, there is often a strong focus on expanding programmes and increasing support. But access to these systems is not experienced in the same way by everyone. For some entrepreneurs, support is within reach. For others, there are barriers that are less visible, linked to networks, geography and how ecosystems are structured. What becomes important, then, is not only creating more support, but ensuring that it is accessible and relevant to different contexts. The Playbook brings together practical guidance and tools designed to support ecosystem actors in doing this work — from programme design to partnerships and building more inclusive pipelines. It’s a resource meant to be used, adapted, and shared across the region. Explore the Playbook: https://lnkd.in/ermFnt-p That is where the real work begins. #CaribbeanInnovation #Entrepreneurship #InclusiveEntrepreneurship #InnovationEcosystems #ConectaCaribbean

A big step forward for the Garden Route Innovation and Technology Hub - and an important one for the ecosystem we’re building. We’re now officially recognised as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO), with Section 18A approval from SARS. In practical terms, this means organisations and individuals can support our work and receive tax-deductible benefits - removing a key barrier to funding impact-driven initiatives. For us, this isn’t just a compliance milestone. It’s a lever. It allows us to more intentionally channel funding into digital skills development, support for entrepreneurs, and expanding access to opportunity across the Garden Route and Klein Karoo - particularly in underserved communities. We’ve always believed that talent is everywhere, but access is not. This positions us to keep closing that gap at scale! #Entrepreneurship #Business

Fragmented support is the silent killer of local economic growth. 📉 When cities and universities work in silos, entrepreneurs fall through the cracks. We need to stop thinking of entrepreneur support as a series of short-term programs and start treating it as permanent economic infrastructure. 🏗️ Research shows that startups in ecosystems with high levels of local connectedness grow 2x faster. Coordinated ecosystems are the only way to build long-term community resilience. At ISM, we’ve seen the power of this approach globally across 100+ countries. When we move from silos to systems, we create a foundation that lasts long after the program ends. 🌍 Is your local ecosystem connected or fragmented? Let's discuss. 🤝 #EcosystemBuilding #EconomicDevelopment #SmallBusinessSupport #ISM #CommunityResilience #Entrepreneurship
