Last fall, MaRS Discovery District launched a national ag and foodtech mission. Funded by FCC / FAC, this Mission aims to strengthen Canada’s food systems by increasing the flow of investment, building resilience into the agri-food sector, and reducing operational emissions. Canadians are keen to develop homegrown solutions to ensure we’re resilient in the face of external threats. So, accelerators like this Mission from Mars are very crucial, as they help companies move their innovative ideas from seed to commercialization, making possible ‘made in Canada’ solutions for the long term. Thanks Katherine Festeryga & Gaurav Tewari for talking to me about the Mission. https://lnkd.in/ezxetupw

𝐆𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🌊 Ghana has made a bold move by launching Africa’s first Blue Food Innovation Hub alongside a startup accelerator aimed at aquaculture and ocean-based food systems. The initiative is designed to back local startups, unlock new technology and support sustainable seafood production across the continent, from ponds to plate. The hub brings together innovators, investors and researchers to tackle challenges like food security, climate resilience and job creation. Think of it as a growth engine for blue economy ideas, giving entrepreneurs the tools they need to scale without sinking under early stage pressure. For Africa’s aquaculture and blue economy sectors, this sets a strong benchmark. It signals serious intent to professionalise the industry, attract investment and turn coastal and inland water resources into long term economic wins. For startups and value chain players, the tide is clearly turning in their favour. Read the fully story by WeAreAquaculture: https://lnkd.in/eK7jQjbi

We’re excited to announce that eAgronom has joined Cleantech Estonia. Cleantech Estonia connects companies building real, scalable solutions to climate and sustainability challenges. For us, it means being part of a community that turns innovation into practical impact across the food and agriculture system. "Farmers are at the center of climate action but for this transition to work it has to be economically viable. Real change starts when sustainability and profitability go hand in hand." - Robin Saluoks "Fertile soil is a valuable asset for future generations. Through regenerative farming and carbon sequestration, eAgronom reduces pressure on expanding agricultural land while strengthening soil health and food security. With eAgronom joining the network, Cleantech Estonia gains a strong partner in sustainable agriculture." - Karlis Goldstein, CEO of Cleantech Estonia This is an important step as we continue to scale solutions that turn soil health into real value for farmers and build a more resilient food system.

At our first industry event in Kuala Lumpur, food systems leaders came together around one key question: what does it truly mean for hospitality to contribute to regeneration? The answer was clear - real change requires collective action, and there’s a role for everyone in this movement. As we move forward, we’re excited to bring this conversation into Zero Foodprint Asia (ZFPA)’s 1% Pledge - a simple model that channels every meal into regenerative farming projects with smallholder farmers. Stay tuned for upcoming event dates - we can’t wait to continue the conversation.

What a way to kick things off. Got to be in the room with Peggy Chan and Samantha de Mello as we brought the hospitality industry together for the first Zero Foodprint Asia gathering in Malaysia. The biggest takeaway? It doesn't have to be complicated. It starts with curiosity. Curiosity about the diverse ingredients unique to our soil. About what's endemic and easy to grow. About why eating closer to the realities and needs of the land — and our farmers — isn't just better for the planet. It's better for our tastebuds and our gut health too. If you're in F&B, hospitality, or food media in Malaysia, we'd love to connect! It starts with one honest conversation - about where our ingredients come from, who grows them, and whether the land and the farmers are better or worse for it. Let's keep the conversation going on how to help move the next acre of land towards regeneration!

Was delighted this week to discuss QSR globally with the new cohorts of the Bord Bia Origin Green Ambassadors Programme. This group will be out in industry in the coming weeks on placement and we are chuffed to show our support to continue promoting sustainable beef, lamb and pork production.
We were delighted to welcome the new cohort of Origin Green Ambassadors to Kepak Clonee and Kepak Farm. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our operations at Clonee, give insight into our farming practices, and share our sustainability strategy Forward Together with Every Step. The visit provided a valuable platform to highlight how we are working across our business and supply chain to drive continuous improvement and deliver more sustainable outcomes. We wish all the ambassadors the very best of luck as they begin their upcoming placements and look forward to seeing the impact they will make across the industry. #ForwardTogetherWithEveryStep
