From groundbreaking chimpanzee research to decades of environmental advocacy, Jane Goodall, The Jane Goodall Institute, built a career and conservation philosophy around action, hope and the idea that people are more likely to protect the natural world when they feel connected to it. We're honored to continue her essential work 💚

'Hope is about action', thank you Forbes ❤️ On courage, I think Jane would've agreed with Benjamin Ferencz: ''It takes courage not to be discouraged.''

This caught my attention. The core idea here, people protect what they feel connected to, is the same principle behind a lot of what makes mission-driven work actually land, whether that's conservation, animal welfare, or anything else asking people to care about something they can't directly touch. Jane Goodall has been a lifelong inspiration of mine, I actually open every workshop I run with her quote, "What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." It's become the anchor for how I think about strategy work itself. It tracks with what Ive seen coaching leaders of mission-driven orgs, connection almost always outperforms data as a driver of action, even when the data is airtight. I'm curious what specific tactic Goodall used to build that felt connection at scale, since doing it one person at a time doesn't get you a global movement. Her legacy is a good reminder that hope has to be built into the strategy, not bolted on after.

Direct action created connection. Plenty of people talk about conservation. She went to the chimps.

Great example of the good one person can do.

And now the hardwork really begins! Thank you The Jane Goodall Institute for all your hard work and ongoing efforts!

We have honoured your work and legacy! Thanks for showing us compassion and love for other sentient beings, go vegan 🌱
