Jane never slowed down — in fact, she used to joke that she had to speed up to spread her message of hope before it was too late. Looking back at this message, recorded during #ClimateWeekNYC in 2024, it is inspiring how much her words still hold power. 🤝 We are all interconnected. Jane's wild chimpanzee research taught her that we are all a part of, and not apart from, the natural world, and we all have a responsibility to protect it. 🌳 We have the power to make a difference. When Jane learned that chimpanzee populations were dwindling, and forest habitat was at risk, she took action. She founded the Jane Goodall Institute and traveled the world to share her vision, and today JGI continues her remarkable conservation legacy. 🤍 We must not lose hope. Jane believed that hope is not a passive feeling, it's about action. Every small choice we make has the power to make a real, positive impact. Jane didn't just leave behind a legacy. Jane Goodall’s work has held a special place in my heart since childhood. I admired not only her courage and determination, but also the kindness and respect she showed towards every living being. She taught us that we can all make a difference, whatever we do in life. 🌿💚
She fascinated me as a young girl and became a lasting source of inspiration. Her influence helped inspire my children’s book series, “The Wildlife Divas Adventure Team,” which follows girls using STEM skills to travel the world, protect wildlife, and help save endangered animals. I missed meeting her in person by minutes at the San Francisco Wildlife Conservation Summit a few years ago. It would have been my childhood dream come true. But alas, her influence remains as I celebrate and honor her for the years to come on my birthday, October 1st. My SHERO The Jane Goodall Institute
