NVA General Practice’s Post

Congratulations, Sandra! We can't wait to see the impact you'll make in this new role and watch you continue to champion the profession you love.

We are pleased to announce that Sandra Faeh, DVM has been named Head of Public Policy and Government Relations at National Veterinary Associates (NVA). In this role, Dr. Faeh will bring the perspectives of veterinarians, hospital teams and pet families to the conversations shaping the future of veterinary medicine. Dr. Faeh will also help advance NVA’s academic partnerships and workforce development priorities, collaborating with veterinary schools and industry leaders to support innovation in veterinary education, mentorship, clinical training, leadership development and the continued growth of the profession. Dr. Faeh brings a rare combination of clinical experience, hospital leadership and national advocacy to this work. Most recently, she served as Chief Medical Officer for NVA’s General Practice business. She joined NVA as a joint venture partner in 2020 after serving as Managing Veterinarian and part-owner of Elmhurst Animal Care Center and three small-animal hospitals in the Chicago suburbs. In 2021, she launched NVA’s first mentorship program, helping create additional support and development opportunities for veterinarians across our community. Dr. Faeh has also held numerous leadership roles in organized veterinary medicine, including serving as President of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) for the 2024–2025 term, President of the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association and President of the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association. Throughout her career, Dr. Faeh has been a committed advocate for veterinarians, veterinary teams and the pets and families they serve. Her experience across clinical practice, hospital operations, professional leadership, education and advocacy uniquely positions her to strengthen collaboration across the veterinary profession and help address the workforce, regulatory and public policy issues affecting its future. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Faeh on this next chapter. #VeterinaryMedicine #Leadership #PublicPolicy
