Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the AI Impact Summit in Delhi — and it truly felt like experiencing the future in real life. From listening to powerful discussions about innovation to actually controlling an AI robot with a remote, every moment reminded me how fast technology is evolving. I recently happened to stumble upon a gem I hadn’t even known existed before – the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. In just 10 minutes, you’re lifted from the hot Mojave desert up into an alpine (chilly) climate, roughly 2.5 km above Palm Springs, with views that completely reframe your sense of scale and perspective. 🌵🚡🌲 Riding that tram made me think about how we’re experiencing a similar “altitude shift” with human-facing AI. The first wave – AI customer service agents – is already here, and I’m encountering it more and more often. It’s only the beginning. 🤖💬 We’re now moving into new territory: autonomous lead-generation conversations and even screening and full recruitment calls. These AI agents sound surprisingly natural and polite, and it can take quite some effort to realise they’re not human. 📞😯 Just like the fast ride up to the top of San Jacinto can feel a bit scary, the AI journey can be unsettling for employees, executives and managers. The terrain is new, the height is unfamiliar, and the pace is fast. But the view from the top – new capabilities, efficiency, and insight – can be extraordinary. 🎢🏔️✨ The real question is: are today’s “common people” ready to fully interact with AI agents?
