Death, has been a highly effective educator to me, during my life. Learning how to deal with loss, the anger of the moment, the years of deep feelings that follow, the ability to find peace while dealing your way through supporting others, has shaped who I am today, significantly. We all pay a price when Death visits, I have a brilliant friend who reminded me once that no one and nothings makes you feel anything, that you are the only controller of your feelings. It is you that services your guilt and sadness. Those that love you, surround you, support you, also pay a price as well. Friendships, relationships, marriages, kids, family, careers, can all be lost to grief. We are truly one bad day from "Falling Down". But, We will rise from the ashes, we will find our sunny days, we will learn to carry the pain, not lose to it, but carry the memories in our minds and hearts. Our life is a reminder to have the conversations, stay up late and laugh, hug longer, get angry less, build instead of tear down, plant the right ideas, hate less, learn forever, and be a better friend, family member, or leader. The most important lesson I have learned from death, is that I can survive it, and use its lessons to help others deal with it on their hardest day. "Carry on my wayward son, there will be peace when you are done, lay your weary head to rest, don't you cry no more."
