TEDxAthens, Greece's longest-running TEDx event, runs on WordPress. The site is built on the Block Editor with custom block patterns and modular layouts that organize a large archive of talks, speaker profiles, podcasts, and event editions. It's a good example of WordPress handling the demands of a global brand with an active community. https://wp.me/pmwwI-3pL #WordPressShowcase

If you enjoy listening to podcasts and write using Google Docs, this tip is for you (almost nobody has tried this yet): You may have previously seen a feature called audio overviews in a tool called NotebookLM. It takes information from a bunch of sources you provide and creates a podcast-like conversation about it all between two hosts. Now, Google Workspace just launched something similar (but different) in Docs. It gives you a summary of the document in audio form. Perfect for lengthy research reports, white papers, or even PRDs, especially when you're on the move. Here's how to do it: 1 - Click ‘Tools’ in the menu bar 2 - Go to ‘Audio’ 3 - Click ‘Listen to document summary’ There are also options to change the playback speed and select a different voice. Give it a go and let me know what you think! By the way, I've just launched my first ever live course which starts in a few weeks. It'll help you master Gemini to save hours at work. Superb experience presenting at this year's RadioDays conference in Riga about the success of our community building of Outo Luonto / Weird Nature podcast as well as the latest findings of my PhD research of podcast communities. If you're interested in the topic — there are two articles (and the third one coming up in the next two weeks) worth reading/downloading: https://lnkd.in/dv3Cq45t https://lnkd.in/dTpTwbZA Also, here are five key points from the presentation: Audience Empowerment: True participation means giving listeners actual power to shape the content, not just asking for basic feedback or suggestions. Authenticity is Key: Audience considering the hosts authentic is the absolute foundation of a podcast community; obvious selling or commercialism destroys it. Personal Connection: Speak directly to your audience—address listeners by name and treat them as if they are sitting in the same room with you. Relatable Hosting: Avoid the "expert pedestal." Having a non-expert host who mirrors the audience's curiosity makes the content much more approachable. Proven Results: Relying 100% on the audience and building community works—it successfully turned a traditional nature topic into a hit among young people.

Whenever you post audio or video on your website, you should include downloadable transcripts because it will help you reach up to three times as many people. How? Think of it this way: Most people don't go online to find sermons or podcasts; they go online to find answers to their specific questions. Search engines don't index audio or video files, but the average 45-minute file has around 7,000 words that can be indexed in the form of a transcript. If you post fifty 45-minute sermon transcripts a year, that's more than a quarter of a million words that will be indexed, which will have a significant effect on the number of people who find your website when doing online searches. https://lnkd.in/efcbjNzp

I’ve found myself listening to more podcasts over the last few year, for news, perspective, and long-form conversations. I’m not alone. Recent data from the Reuters Institute shows that over 40% of North Americans now consume news or current affairs content through podcasts on a regular basis. That’s a meaningful shift in how information is being shaped and understood. What’s interesting isn’t just the growth, it’s the influence. Podcasts feel authentic. They’re conversational, accessible, and often more engaging than traditional media. But that format can also blur the lines between journalism, commentary, and advocacy. In sectors like gaming, where policy, regulation, and public trust all matter, that distinction becomes especially important. For example, platforms like @GamingNewsCanada have built a strong following and are contributing to the national conversation. At the same time, they reflect a particular industry perspective, including views on expanding online gaming across Canada and that of Paul Burns and Canadian Gaming Association, whose sole mission is to expand online gaming on behalf of their paid membership. That perspective has a place. But as listeners; and as leaders, it’s worth asking a simple question: Who is behind the message, and what perspective are they advancing? Well-informed public policy depends on balanced information, transparency, and a clear understanding of the interests at play. As the way we consume information evolves, so too does our responsibility to engage with it thoughtfully. Not everything that sounds like news is neutral. And not every platform is designed to be.

Kicking off March 2026 and SXSW launch season, clean, searchable transcripts are a superpower: you can turn episodes into blogs, newsletters, and social posts without re-listening. In this quick YouTube tutorial 🎥, Tiago shows how Podsqueeze helps you: - Transcribe any audio or video in seconds. - Rename speakers so text is clean for blogs, show notes, or YouTube descriptions. - Embed transcripts on your site to boost SEO and accessibility. - Use search-and-replace to fix names, brand terms, or typos across the whole transcript. - Chat with the transcript like ChatGPT—ask questions, pull quotes, find timestamps, and generate hooks, titles, and clips. Best part: it all runs automatically after you upload your podcast or video. Watch: https://lnkd.in/eFEyUeNb
