We’re heading back to Toronto! 🇨🇦 The Path to Purchase Institute's Retail Media Summit Canada returns for its fourth year on February 9, 2027, and I’m excited about what we’re building for this year’s event. The Canadian retail media market continues to evolve quickly. The conversation has moved beyond whether retail media works to proving incrementality, simplifying an increasingly complex ecosystem, making better use of first-party data and ultimately delivering measurable business results. For 2027, we’re enhancing the program with new features, more opportunities to connect and an updated agenda built specifically around the Canadian market. We’ll be announcing content and speakers shortly. If you’re interested in being part of Retail Media Summit Canada as a sponsor, you can take a look at the 2027 opportunities here: https://lnkd.in/gDzr88fV Looking forward to getting back to Toronto and kicking off our 2027 event season!

Retail media continues to move well beyond traditional retail. McDonald's is testing its own media network across 450 U.S. restaurants, with ambitions to build it into a $1 billion business. And look at the marketplace: 70+ million customers a day, nearly 220 million active loyalty members, plus the app, kiosks, menu boards and restaurants. News Release Archive This is exactly the type of evolution we’ll be talking about at our 2027 Retail Media Summit in Chicago. Morgan Flatley Where does retail media end and commerce media begin? I’m not sure that line matters much anymore. #RetailMedia #CommerceMedia #RetailMediaSummit #McDonalds Path to Purchase Institute

GLP-1 is starting to show up in how retailers think about the store. Fresh Thyme Market, working with SPINS, identified “More in Every Bite” as one of its 2027 food trends: smaller portions with more protein, fiber, healthy fats and nutrients. What I find interesting is that we’re moving beyond talking about GLP-1 behavior and starting to see retailers and brands respond to it. What does the right assortment look like? What happens to portions and packaging? How does merchandising change? And which categories gain space in the basket? These are exactly the questions we’ll be digging into at our GLP-1 Shopper Summit in Chicago on November 12. www.glp1shoppersummit.com The shopper is changing. The basket is changing. Now the store has to change with them. #GLP1 #GroceryRetail #CPG #ShopperMarketing #GLP1ShopperSummit

Protein may only be the beginning of the GLP-1 food story. Conagra Brands’s new research shows shoppers are increasingly looking for more: protein plus fiber, hydration, probiotics and other functional benefits. If we’re eating less, every bite needs to do more. This is exactly why we’re bringing retailers, CPGs and industry leaders together at our first GLP-1 Shopper Summit in Chicago this November. The market basket is changing quickly, and there’s a lot we need to understand about what comes next. event information at www.glp1shoppersummit.com Looking forward to the conversation. Congratulations to the Path to Purchase Institute member Quad on its new partnership with Smart & Finalal to help build out the retailer’s in-store media network. As retailers look for new ways to connect with shoppers closer to the point of purchase, the physical store is becoming an increasingly important part of the retail media ecosystem. This partnership is a great example of how retailers and their partners can bring media, technology and the in-store experience together in a more connected way. We look forward to seeing how Quad and Smart & Final bring this partnership to life. Read the P2PI coverage: https://lnkd.in/gHNj2Qns

Two displays at Sprouts Farmers Market caught my attention, each giving shoppers a different reason to take a closer look. Be LOVE™ puts the benefits front and center: protein, energy, focus, zero sugar. It’s easy to see what the product is offering. Fishwife and Back to Nature Foods take a different approach. By pairing two categories, they give shoppers an idea for what to eat, not just another product to buy. One starts with the benefit. The other starts with the occasion. Both are good reminders that an effective display gives shoppers something to consider beyond what’s on the shelf. Progressive Grocer | Path to Purchase Institute

This is exactly the kind of GLP-1 innovation we want to learn more about. Hanover Foods Corporation has introduced its new Skinny Veg line, specifically designed with the changing needs of GLP-1 consumers in mind. What I find interesting is where this is happening. We’ve seen plenty of protein shakes, supplements and products built around GLP-1. Now we’re seeing the conversation move into everyday grocery categories. That raises a much bigger question: How much will GLP-1 ultimately change the grocery store and the market basket? On November 12 in Chicago, we’re bringing retailers, CPGs and industry leaders together for our first GLP-1 Shopper Summit to have exactly these conversations. Www.glp1shoppersummit.com I’d love to hear from the team at Hanover Foods about what they’re seeing, why they made this move and where they think this is headed. Wayne Bennett sent me this picture from Hy-Vee, Inc. , and it immediately caught my attention. Right there in the HealthMarket section: GLP-1 Nutrition Support. That says a lot about how quickly GLP-1 is moving from a healthcare conversation into a retail and shopper conversation. What gets merchandised differently? Which categories benefit? Which ones need to rethink their positioning? And how should brands communicate with this shopper in-store? These are exactly the kinds of conversations we’ll be having at our GLP-1 Shopper Summit in Chicago on November 12. www.glp1shoppersummit.com The shopper is changing. The store is starting to change with them.

Attention, CPG sales and marketing leaders AI is quickly changing how consumer goods companies approach growth, shopper discovery, and execution. These are no longer future conversations. They are decisions companies are making right now. Join us October 20 and 21 at The Drake Hotel in Chicago for the Consumer Goods Sales & Marketing Tech Summit. We’ll spend two days talking candidly about what is working, what is not, and where CPG leaders should be focusing next. You’ll hear practical perspectives on AI, revenue growth, the changing path to purchase, and stronger execution at the shelf. Just as important, you’ll have time to connect with other leaders working through many of the same challenges. I have a personal offer available for members of my network. Reach out to me directly and I’ll share the details. CGT - Consumer Goods Technology
