I’d heard and read good things about @kellerwinebar in Whitstable, not least from Giles Coren (who i’m not sure is on instagram these days) and it lived up to expectations. This lobster salad which went brilliantly well with a glass of @sandhiwines Chardonnay was the highlight but more in tomorrow’s newsletter. Kent followers have you been? (Actually worth leaving London for) #lobster #whitstable #foodandwineAfter the surprise success of my last post (still no idea why it took off but THANKYOU) I got to thinking what i should be using instagram for. And maybe one thing could be bigging up small businesses although this lovely café @anaslondon_ I stumbled across by chance in Gray’s Inn Road in London this week seems to be doing very well. I went in for a coffee but couldn’t resist this deliciously flaky bougatsa which is a sort of Greek custard slice dusted with icing sugar and cinnamon. (That was the size of the helping. I had to take the rest back to the friends I was staying with.) They also do a mean pastitio which I would definitely have ordered if I hadn’t had lunch which apparently alternates with what I’m sure would be an equally substantial moussaka. Lovely place, friendly people. If you’re passing I’d drop by too. So much better than a Starbucks! #greekfood #londonfood #supportsmallbusinessI don’t know about you but I struggle to find the time and inclination to post on instagram these days. Unless you’re making a 5 minute video it just doesn’t seem to register. You used to be able to post a single shot and all your mates would see it. Now it’s all about capturing the attention of disinterested strangers. When frankly I’d rather be reading a book. How about you?I mean would you say no? My guess is you would not.
