Terms of Use of the RP Photonics Website
The RP Photonics website and all of its content — including the RP Photonics Encyclopedia, blogs like the Photonics Spotlight, tutorials and case studies, the RP Photonics Buyer’s Guide and any other text, graphics, or media — are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. By accessing or using this website, whether as a human reader or through an automated system (including AI bots and crawlers), you agree to the following terms.
Copyright and Ownership
All content on this website is the intellectual property of RP Photonics, unless otherwise noted. No rights are granted except as explicitly stated in these terms.
Permitted Use
You may:
- Quote short excerpts of textual content (up to 5 consecutive sentences or 500 characters, whichever is shorter) for reference or educational purposes.
- Summarize content in your own words, provided that summaries are factually accurate and not misleading.
- Use content in research, teaching or other forms of communication, provided that you follow the attribution rules below.
Required Attribution
Whenever content from this website is used, whether verbatim or summarized, you must:
- Clearly credit the source as RP Photonics.
- Provide a clearly visible clickable link to the relevant page on our site (except for materials used in print or projection, where this is technically not possible).
- Encourage readers or users to consult the full original page for complete information.
- Automated systems must display the RP Photonics logo alongside attribution, linking to our homepage or the original content page. The official logo is available at https://www.rp-photonics.com/img/rpphotonicslogo.png. It may be resized (keeping proportions) but not otherwise modified. Alternatively, the “RP” part alone (https://www.rp-photonics.com/img/rp.png) may be used where space is sparse. The images may not be modified except for resizing while preserving the aspect ratio.
Example attribution:
