[RETIRED MODEL] Your little speed demon– boy or girl – will be dazzled by this chrome plated beast. Just as you (or your LBS) can build a Smoothie frame into your perfect road machine, you can now build a custom bike for your kids. - CrMo and high tensile steel tubes
- Lugged steel fork (1-1/8" threadless steerer)
- Rack and fender eyelets
- Fits 57mm road caliper bikes
- Max tire clearance 20" x 32 to 35mm
- Get it with our mini kit or experiment with other parts.

It might not be as quick handling as our Smoothie or other dedicated race frames, but it is still quite fast and you'll actually gain valuable stability on speedy descents along with the ability to fit 28-32mm wide road tires. An ideal choice for multi-day charity rides, centuries, credit card touring and fast commuting. In 2016, we shaved down the number of sizes a little, but have kept the hard to find 66cm size.

2014 Geometry:

(This Fog Cutter was replaced with the v.2 which was updated with thru-axle compatibility)
The Fog Cutter is an endurance road/road sport design. We designed it to fit fatter tires, but its geometry makes it handle like a road bike rather than CX or gravel bike. It can float you over chewed up asphalt better than most bikes in this category. This is the frame you want for long days in the saddle and the most demanding commutes.
- Tange Prestige double butted CrMo steel front triangle; butted CrMo on rear triangle; heat treated throughout
- Road sport geometry
- Rear rack fitting: IMPORTANT-- We recommend that racks to be mounted to the eyelet on the dropout. The eyelet on the side of the lower seatstay is mainly for fenders. If you choose to mount a rack to the lower seatstay eyelet keep loads to a maximum 15 lbs (10 lbs. if you go off road)
- International disc mounts (rear mount is located on the chainstay for stiffer performance and also keeps the caliper out of the way of rear racks)
- Fork options: Matching straight blade carbon fork w/ aluminum steerer or lugged CrMo steel fork w/CrMo steerer
- Tire clearance for 700c x38mm with fenders (some front derailleurs will limit tire clearance) and 650b x 42mm - 1-1/8" headtube (fits EC34/28.6|EC34/30 headsets)
- 27.2mm post size
- Max chainring fit: 52-39-30t 45mm chainline. 53-39t, 48.5mm chainline
- Front derailleur clamp: 28.6mm, bottom pull
- 7 sizes: 48, 51, 54, 56, 58, 61 and 66cm
- Weight: 4.25 lbs (48cm); 4.5 lbs. (58cm)
- Paint: Rosso Red

There were two versions of the rim brake Grand Randonneur. The first one came in Cream and more seat tube extension above the top tube. Later production came with an additional set of bottle bosses under the downtube. The second version was introduced around 2015 and had a more conventional seat tube extension and some different geometry numbers. It was available in Cream and White.
Our Grand Randonneur is a true low trail geometry randonneuring frame set, which means it rides better with a front load than other touring and road bikes. Co-designed with Mike Kone of Rene Herse/Boulder Bicycles. It will fit all the gadgets a good rando bike should have. The traditional diameter tubes lend a smooth comfortable ride.
- Tange Prestige CrMo tubes, double-butted, non-oversized

2014

The Juice is one of the most versatile 29er hardtail frames on the planet. The sliding dropouts allow you to run the bike SS or geared. The tire clearance for the 2017 model has been upped to fit 29" x 2.5" and 27.5 x 2.8". The CrMo tubes offer a lively ride. The geometry is very stable at speed and lets you carve corners with confidence.
The Juice comes in two versions: Standard and Belt-drive Compatible. The right seatstay of the Belt-Drive compatible version has a split to allow you to slip in a belt, like a Gates Carbon Drive.

We describe it as a fun bike that is very comfortable on single track, flowy trails and general backwood exploring. Its medium length wheelbase also makes it a stable platform for bikepacking.
This version is updated with tough IRD Broski Sliding Dropouts that allow you to go single-speed or geared or even run hub gears and alter ride characteristics slightly by adjusting the chainstay length. Earlier production came with QR insert, but latter production came ready for the 142 x 12mm thru-axle hubs.
Fits up to
27.5 x 2.8" wide tires without needing to invest in Boost parts. Hasn't
abandoned front derailleur compatibility.
Another unusual option: the Juice is available in a belt-drive ready version.
- Tange Prestige heat-treated butted CrMo steel; butted CrMo rear end
- Geometry is optimized for 100mm travel 29" forks and will handle 120mm forks great, too

[The Pick Up Artist has retired. This page is up for informational purposes only.] WIRE Magazine called it "the best-named cargo bike ever", but there is much more going for the Pick-Up Artist than its name.
This is a great option to consider if you are looking for a little more hauling capacity than the Tradesman and you don't want to piece together parts for a frame. The PUA is a complete bike.
- The longer wheelbase and linkage steering makes for a milder steering beast (better than carrying heavy loads). It's longer front platform also takes bulkier loads.
- The platform rack is fixed to the frame - not the fork - so the front load does not affect the steering as much as with a fork mounted pannier or bar mounted basket.
- Super low standover height makes disembarking easier even if you have something on top of the rear rack.

[RETIRED: A revised version replaced this one in 2025.]The Rush has a swift geometry and stiff chassis, but the smooth riding blend of lightweight chromoly tubes makes it at home on chewed-up asphalt as much as the velodrome.
In 2014 the Rush was redesigned with side-tacked seatstays and S-bend chainstays for more crank clearance and tire clearance. To cap off its more vintage Keirin-inspired look, we are matching the Rush with a threaded fork to allow you to equip it with a clean-looking quill stem.

- Aggressive track geometry
- Investment cast Tange horizontal track fork ends
- Drilled for caliper brakes

A touring frame to take you to places far and wide. Built stoutly, because no one wants to experience a breakdown on the Alti Plano. Extra long chainstays help keep your panniers out of the way of your pedaling. Taller headtube for a comfortable all day riding position. In 2015 we added an additional 54cm size for 650b wheels.
- Specially specced Tange Prestige heat-treated CrMo tubing; 31.8mm butted downtube and top tube for a stiffer front triangle. Bombproof headtube is nearly impossible to ovalize

The robust Saga frame set is designed to excel at long distance loaded touring. This latest revision offers sizing up to a huge 66cm and gives you the freedom to run disc brakes or rim brakes. Please check out the FAQ tab to read about the benefits of two brake options.
- Specially chosen Tange Prestige heat-treated CrMo tubing; 31.8mm butted downtube and top tube for a stiffer front triangle. Larger frames have slightly thicker gauge tubing. Bombproof headtube is nearly impossible to ovalize.
- Longer chainstays and lower BB add stability and keep the panniers out of the way of your heels. Geometry puts the rider in a semi-upright position that is better for all-day riding.
- Disc brake specific dropouts work with ISO mount caliper. Rear brake mounts on the chainstay, so it doesn't interfere with rear rack or fender mounting. The dropout also has a port for Rohloff OEM2 mounting.
- Compatible also with cantilever brakes and linear pull brakes. (Posts are removable)
- Matching flat crown fork has double eyelets at the dropouts, as well as low-rider mid-leg pannier mounts, and mini rack eyelets. It is reinforced to handle disc brake forces.

(This version of the Saga Disc was RETIRED in 2016. It was replaced by the Saga DC in 2017 and a new Saga Disc with different sizing came out in 2018) Our robust original Saga touring frame has taken cyclists safely on adventures all over the planet, but some times you'll run terrain and weather where rim brakes might not be totally ideal on a heavily loaded bike. So we bring you the Saga Disc as an option.
- Specially chosen Tange Prestige heat-treated CrMo tubing; 31.8mm butted downtube and top tube for a stiffer front triangle. Larger frames have slightly thicker gauge tubing. Bombproof headtube is nearly impossible to ovalize.

[RETIRED. There is no newer model to replace this. ]
Our robust Saga Disc frame set is ready to take you on adventures all over the planet, It is purposely designed to ride better loaded up than naked. This updated version now fits tires up to 2.1", but the 700c models will no longer fit road triple cranks. We recommend using touring/trekking triples( ex. 48-36-24t) or MTB triples or doubles, which make more sense as more cyclists go to wider, more sure-footed tires. We were also able to shave some unneeded weight off the frame.
- Specially chosen Tange Prestige heat-treated CrMo tubing; 31.8mm butted downtube and top tube for a stiffer front triangle. Larger frames have slightly thicker gauge tubing.
- Longer chainstays and lower BB add stability and keep the panniers out of the way of your heels. Geometry puts the rider in a semi-upright position that is better for all-day riding.
- Disc brake specific dropouts work with ISO mount caliper. Rear brake mounts on the chainstay, so it doesn't interfere with rear rack or fender mounting
- Matching flat crown fork has double eyelets at the dropouts, as well as low-rider mid-leg pannier mounts, and mini rack eyelets.
- Spoke holder, pump peg, flat chainstay plate (fits some double kickstands), and three sets of bosses round out the full touring spec (See FAQ's for guidance for using kickstands)
- Compatible with downtube shifters as well as bar mounted shifters
- 30mm or (29.8mm) seat collar not included
- 1-1/8" headtube (fits EC34/28.6|EC34/30 headsets)
- Size 54cm and larger use 700c wheels. Size 52cm and smaller use 26" wheels.
Tire clearance for 29 x 2.1" and 26 x 2.1"

- Paint: Gloss Graphite

[The lovely San Marcos is no longer being produced as of mid-2016. It was always meant to be a limited edition special project.] The San Marcos is a "sport touring" road frame designed by Grant Petersen of Rivendell. It is a fine ride on black top and smooth fire roads. While not designed for loaded touring, it can probably handle that type of duty even better than the Double Cross, which was Soma's go-to choice for touring before the Saga was designed. Fork includes mini rack braze-ons and fender eyelets.
- Tange Prestige heated treated CrMo steel with genuine Rivendell lugs
- Rivendell-designed road geometry
- Includes a lugged crown Tange Infinity CrMo steel fork (1" threaded steerer). Latest versions have our "classic curve" fork legs
- Rear rack, mini front rack braze-ons and fender eyelets
- Headtube pump peg
- Kickstand plate
- 1" size headtube
