A recall happens when a product is removed from the market because it may pose a risk to consumers. Firms recall products for a myriad of reasons, including, but not limited to, safety or quality or the product’s compliance with the law or industry standards. If you have a recalled product, use the resources below to confirm the recall and learn what to do next.
Check if a product is recalled
To check whether a product sold through Walmart or Walmart.com has been recalled:
- Visit Walmart’s Product Recalls page.
- Look for the product using details such as:
- Brand
- Product name
- Product number
- Model number
- If you can’t find the product on the Product Recalls page, check Recalls.gov, which is run by the federal government and compiles recall information.
If the recall appears on Recalls.gov but not on Walmart’s Product Recalls page, you can take the item to a Walmart store to verify the recall.
If the product is not listed on either website, contact the manufacturer directly.
Food recalls
If you still have a recalled food product:
- Do not consume it.
- Discard the product;
- Visit any Walmart store for a full refund, in accordance with our refund policy.
