A weekend cold front brings increased rain chances to S TX. Confidence is increasing with a 50-70% chance for greater than1" of rain, and a 20-40% chance for greater than 2". Soils are very dry and will be able to soak up a lot of the rainfall, but any is desperately needed! South Texas is in a marginal risk for flash flooding Saturday and Saturday night.

Mostly cloudy morning will lead to mostly sunny skies this afternoon and a low (20%) chance of rain across the Coastal Plains today. Winds will be breezy out of the southeast 15-25 mph and higher gusts. Highs will range from around 80 along the coast to the mid 90s over the Rio Grande Plains.

Increasing sunshine with low rain chances (20%) across beaches today with southeasterly winds of 15 to 20 mph and highs in the upper 70s. There is a MODERATE risk of rip currents. Dangerous swimming conditions are possible, especially near piers and jetties.

Increasing clouds tonight with lows from the upper 60s to lower 70s and breezy southeasterly winds 10-20 mph.

Low rain chances will continue through Friday before a cold front pushes through this weekend, bringing medium to high rain chances. Highs will continue to hit the 80s and 90s until Sunday behind the front where highs plummet into the 60s and lows in the 50s thanks to offshore flow, cloudy skies, and rain chances.
