The piano goddess is having a big birthday tomorrow-it has been such a privilege to hear her all of my musical life. I hope for many more years of miraculous artistry from Martha-like the rest of,the world, I am a total fan.
On February 1 was the anniversary of the death of the great Peter Serkin, one of the most important artists of our time. I was privileged to know him and to experience his artistry and am forever grateful for his friendship.
As one watches the apparently dignified process in congress, it is amazing to realize that what is really happening is completely against the law, and a totally brazen flouting of every aspect of the American experience. For shame!
