Africa’s share of mineral exploration has declined from 16% in 2004 to 10.4% in 2024… even though Africa is the most cost-effective region globally with a mineral value to exploration spending ratio of 0.8—compared to Australia (0.5), Canada (0.6), Latin America (0.3).
