If you are running into this error after updating LiveSplit, please re-download the latest version from livesplit.org/downloads (You can copy the settings.cfg file from your old LiveSplit folder to the new one to keep your settings.)

LiveSplit 1.8.29 introduces a change to the update prompt (it no longer appears in the background) that should hopefully prevent issues with the program eventually hanging if you decline the update. Unfortunately, all previous versions of LiveSplit have this issue.

@wooferzfg I believe Livesplit freezes if there is a pending update. I have been talking to people it has happened to and this seems to be the only thing in common. It generates no crash log or error event, the program just freezes after a random amount of time (often hours).

As of today's 1.8.28 release, a component for The Run is now included with LiveSplit. You can go to therun.gg/livesplit to get started

LiveSplit 1.8.26 was just released, and it includes an update to the Video component that makes it only compatible with VLC 3.0 (was previously VLC 2.2.1). If you're using the Video component, you'll need to update to the latest version of VLC.
