There should be a federal law requiring governors to call special elections in a timely manner. It's getting stupid. About 1.63 million people in FL-20 and TX-23 will go nearly 9 months without representation because DeSantis and Abbott don't want more Democrats in the US House.

Maricopa County AZ is the big one, Phoenix metro 2.54 million registered voters in July 2026 So 60 voters were in question being non-citizens Verified 52 are actually citizens A flaw in Arizona MVD (Motor Vehicle Division) caused 8 non-citizens to be registered in error

UPDATE: Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell says of these 60 voters, 52 are citizens. The eight noncitizens are all in the U.S. legally, and most were registered through a flaw in MVD’s systems. She’s not announcing charges today. Story soon!
