4:51 ➡️ 4:22 mile.
Same meet. One year apart.
No magic. No shortcuts. No viral program.
Just smarter training, a stronger engine, and a body that finally adapted instead of just grinding.
Let me break down how it happened 🧵
6 miles (9.7 km) and a lift this morning.
Already getting mogged by @taggartvanetten on his 600/200 workout.
Nikko shown last here embodies how I’m still feeling after that pathetic mile race.
But like him, we have selective amnesia.
On to this week!
Week of Speed- session 1
Training to beat Michael Tiger and his Shih Tzu
8x 600m at 1:45 (1:30) -> 2x 200m at 0:29 (1:30)
@tiga_style you just got MOGGED
1000 percent agree.
And this isn’t some Goggins hardo mentality (not a fan either).
I’m legit perplexed by who finds this interesting, watching someone half ass a race & film it.
Imagine getting paid by a brand and actually caring (novel concept 😂)
It’s really COOL to care!
My warm up for most races (1 hour out):
• 1.5-2 miles jogging
• 800m-1k threshold to get HR up
• Drills
• 4x100m or 15s strides
• 1x200m @ race pace, in race shoes/spikes (20 min out)
For 5k+ I’ll do 400m @ race pace. For a half (no full yet), threshold is usually enough.
