- Thanks so much! I'll try to get rid of all the redirects to these pages by the end of this week. Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 19:59, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
Multiple Image uploads[]
Uploading multiple images at once appears to require having to choose a license type upon submission, even if there are game-specific (screenshot) templates used for that purpose when present in the Summary box (you'd end up having an extra copyright box after you submit multiple images). Any way to work around this? --Twilight Man (talk) 20:21, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
- That definitely shouldn't happen, as we should be using
{{infobox file}}
rather that the given licenses. Looking into this bug now. Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 20:46, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

The good old days[]
I miss them. You've come far, Catuse. And I want to congratulate you. I'm glad you have the passion that I lost along the way. A lot's changed over these past ten years, but that's not something that has. I hope you find continued success and wish you every happiness. It was good while it lasted, what was there
- Hi, I'm not sure I know who you are? Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 14:43, 30 April 2022 (UTC)
- You knew me a long time ago, or at least, we were acquainted with each other. But I guess that doesn't matter now. I just hope life's treating you well now, and I congratulate you on your success.
squarewiki[]
Are you aware of a wiki titled Squarewiki? Apparently it's an abandoned project from earlier members of this community, and lately I adopted it. Not sure if it means much, although I think it's a nice wiki regardless. Mumbo Jumbo II (talk) 18:51, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
- I am aware of it, though I haven't really seen it active in years. Good of you to take over -- if it's successful we might want to start linking to it. Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 04:08, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
- Some deleted stuff from here (e.g. Ogopogo Examiner) could possibly be transwikied there I think. Mumbo Jumbo II (talk) 11:52, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, that's a good find! I've undeleted Ogopogo Examiner and moved it to my userspace for you to touch up before transwikiing, if you desire. Let me know if there's any other stuff you'd like to undelete. Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 02:39, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- Okay done -- it's now been moved to Squarewiki :) Mumbo Jumbo II (talk) 14:26, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- Looks good - let me know if you need anything else. Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 16:51, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- Perhaps you could restore the page revision history for Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, as there was an earlier revision prior to its deletion, and then i could carry that over to Squarewiki & link here as a source Mumbo Jumbo II (talk) 18:13, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- Here you go; the page history is recorded on the talk page. Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 19:09, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- Awesome, thank you. Just curious though -- what were these two images supposed to be (they were on the SMRPG article)? Also, I undeleted a lot of content on the Squarewiki -- from what I see, the old policy was that FF/KH stuff would go into their own wikis, but people made use of Squarewiki as they wished, and the previous bureaucrat (CavaX) made these elaborate Kingdom Hearts articles, so hopefully that doesn't bother this wiki. I uploaded the Smithy and Mario RPG battle images to my test wiki. I didn't want to upload them to the Square wiki since they're such low resolution as to probably be not very useful but I'll defer to your judgment there. Anyways, the policy of allowing people to post whatever on the Square wiki doesn't collide with any of our goals, so don't worry about that. Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 21:20, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- Ty again -- I forgot to say, what was the text that was removed in this revision:

- They are as follows:
- Smithy has four Elemental Fiends, each with a different style of fighting: Mack is fire-Elemental, Bowyer is lightning-elemental, Yardovich is ice/water-elemental, and Axem Rangers combine various elemental powers amongst themselves. Although these minions are defeated, less-powerful rebuilt versions of them appear in Smithy's factory, again mirroring the Fiends who usually return near the end of the game more powerful than before. The various bosses are each tied to a specific weapon theme - swords, bows, spears and axes, all common Final Fantasy weapons. Smithy desires to take control of the Star Pieces to ensure his domination over Mario's world, and each Star Piece is found in a specific theme dungeon - a castle, a forest, a mine, a mountain, the ocean and a volcano. In this, the Star Pieces take the traditional role of Crystals.
- Various Final Fantasy enemies also appear. Bahamut makes an appearance as a boss in Bowser's Keep as "Bahamutt". Enemies from Final Fantasy VI appear as bosses, including CzarDragon, which was dummied out of the game, and Zombone. The Myconid enemy appears later in Final Fantasy IX. Like many final bosses in the Final Fantasy series, once defeated Smithy warps the party to another area and transforms into a far more powerful "true form." Another Final Fantasy tradition that appears are monsters that hide in Treasure Chests. Similar to undead opponents being defeated by using Phoenix Downs and the Holy Water, Mario enemies like Dry Bones, Boo Buddies and Reapers can be killed instantly with "Pure Water". In battle, the concept of "Timed Hits" allows a player to hit the Attack button during the attack animation to cause a critical hit. This concept was repeated for the gunblade weapon in Final Fantasy VIII.
- In battle, Culex is accompanied by four elemental Crystals and shifts from his knight-like from to an angelic form vaguely resembling Kefka's final form with red wings and purple skin. Unlike the other enemies in the game which use 2.5-D isometric sprites and move in place during combat, Culex appears as a flat sprite that is motionless save for floating up and down, in an animation style similar to Final Fantasy enemies. Culex has just over 4000 HP, the highest of any enemy in the game with the exception of the final boss Smithy. However, the four crystals have HP totals of 2500, 3200, 1800 and 800. Combined with Culex, this gives the entire enemy party over 12,000 HP, far more than the final boss. Each Crystal uses magic aligned with their elemental power (fire, water/ice, earth, wind/lightning) and Culex uses non-elemental spells. Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 23:53, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you once again. Would it be appropriate to draftify Mario (Super Mario RPG), Princess Toadstool (Super Mario RPG), Bowser (Super Mario RPG), Mallow, and Geno as well? Some reason those used to have articles here. Mumbo Jumbo II (talk) 00:23, 5 September 2022 (UTC)

Hi, I am Fandom's new Senior Community Manager for Gaming[]
Hello there! My name is Jieyang and I'm going around saying hi to admins in the community. I joined about two weeks ago but you'll be seeing me around more in the future. I'm looking forward to FFXVI but even more so the Crisis Core remaster. I spent hundreds of hours playing that game on my sister's PSP when I was younger.
You can learn more about me through my blog. Feel free to drop me a message on Discord as well! Itsjieyang (talk) 18:22, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
Admin+[]
Hey there! I’m reaching out to introduce the Admin+ program (if you haven’t heard about it already!) & let you know I’m here if you have any questions about it. Take a look at the details here & feel free to send over any questions you have. pikushi ✧.* 14:36, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
Quick Answers Feature[]
Hey there! I’m Kurt, a staff member with Fandom. A while back, your wiki was included in one of Fandom's early tests of the QuickAnswers feature, which means the wiki currently contains a small number of them on a few pages. One of the improvements added a few months ago in a limited test phase is a Dashboard to help manage them, including the option of editing them if they are wrong. There's a help page about it here ! The dashboard was added to a select number of wikis to begin with, and it is now enabled on your wiki as well. Feel free to share this with your fellow admins, and let me know if you have any questions! — OishiiOnIno ( talk ) 16:20, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, Kurt - I've passed along the message to the admin team.
- Unfortunately, this feature seems quite poorly designed, and it does not seem like any of our objections to having this feature added when it was first proposed by a wiki rep were taken into account. At the time the admins who the wiki rep asked indicated that we did not want this feature, because of concerns about AI hallucinations, and because the FFWiki is far too big relative to the amount of manpower we have for it to be reasonable to spend said manpower on babysitting an AI.
- In fact, of the 10 Quick Answers already generated, 2 are off-topic, 2 seem too vague to be useful, 1 is an obscure piece of trivia, and 1 is completely obvious. That's not a good track record! Worse, since the failure rate here is 3/5, and there is a minimum of 3 Quick Answers per page, this means that we cannot simply discard bad Quick Answers without coming up with replacements manually.
- So I am loath to encourage FFWikiers to maintain this feature when they could be maintaining the wiki proper or writing more profound prose. This is especially true because only rollbackers can maintain this feature -- most active rollbackers have too many other responsibilities on the FFWiki already. Cat (meow ∙ hunt) 20:40, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hey! This is a valid point, so this should no longer be an issue. So sorry for the mix up and that the team had to deal with this. — OishiiOnIno ( talk ) 15:28, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
Much Better News[]
Hopefully this is way more interesting! I have an offer from Fandom and Square Enix! We may be obtaining some exclusive assets for Dawntrail, like HQ images to freshen up the wiki in preparation of its release and/or to prep some of the pages pertaining to the release. Here's an example of a prior collaboration on the Halo wiki. One of our wiki specialists would reach out to the wiki team with these assets for everyone's input on how they will be implemented. Nothing will be changed without consulting you guys first and getting your stamp of approval. We also have some game codes for the expansion we'd love to share with the Admin team! Does this sound like something y'all would be interested in? — OishiiOnIno ( talk ) 16:04, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
New CM introduction[]
Hey there. I'm Reverie, and I'm a Community Manager working with gaming wikis at Fandom.
I'm here to introduce myself, as I've just been assigned to this wiki (same as a Wiki Representative used to be), and will be a point of contact going forward, here to provide any assistance the Final Fantasy Wiki needs - technical, with bug reports, or anything else raised by users regarding Fandom and its features. I'm also going to be sharing any relevant updates that the wiki should know.
If you or anyone else are in need of assistance from Fandom or have something to report, you can message me, and I'll be happy to help! –ReverieCode 10:53, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
Intangir Bot[]
Heya! Maybe you can help in regards to Intangir Bot (I don't think I have access to it, despite being admin? That and I've never messed with it before either). If I do have access to it, I don't see it under Admin Dashboard. If that's the case, think I could ask a favor with helping with fixing redirects that I'm deleting (there was a bunch that I deleted from the Final Fantasy IX status category that had the "(status effect)" tag, which need to have anything that went to those pages go to the "(status)" pages instead. FFV seems to have this too, don't know if others have them either)? It'd help a lot in the long run! | |||
Bot rollback[]
Please do not use the rollback option to undo edits by the bot. There are often pages where the last few edits have only been made by the bot and so rollback undoes template changes, relinks, etc. Previously I've fixed several sets of these that I've come across. Thanks, ~Bobogoobo (talk) 02:37, October 28, 2024 (UTC)
