One little discrepency on your talk page. You say your limit break is KAMIKAZE ATTACK. However, you follow up with saying that you'll use a phoenix down on yourself. Unless you have the power to change time, it would be more likely that you cast Auto-Life instead of using a phoenix down.

Hey SCM, noticed you've been absent from the story for a while. I was thinking up some background for my character, and it kind of ties in with yours. Could I email you about this?

Okay then, first off: IF YOU ARE NOT SCM OR 8BIT, THEN DO NOT READ THIS, OR WE WILL KILL YOU IN UNISON. Okay... *Takes a deep breath* As you know, both of our characters have nearly no backstory at all. I'll get to the point: My plan is to have our characters be brothers, with 8 being about 4-5 years older. After 8 *did some violent stuff concerning another sibling*, he left the family. I was planning on there being an older brother, attuned to the nature of Light. 8 would of course be Darkness, and SCM, the balance between the two. Before I go on, are you ok with at least this part? And what is your attitude on the killing off of your character? >=3

8bit BlackMage - Beyond the Sky TALK - Why do chemists call helium, curium, and barium 'the medical elements'? Because, if you can't 'helium' or 'curium', you... um... ._.; - {{{time}}}
Okay, so I won't go into that older brother stuff, as that deals more with 8, but I will say the Light brother dies. After all that childhood stuff, SCM is the last son the family has with them. You can add any background stuff you might want there. Basically, 8 knows his younger brother is out there somewhere, but SCM doesn't remember much about him, due to him being toddler-age. Throughout the story, when 8 meets the Order, I was planning on him hesitating on attacking your character, and over time dropping hints that the two are sort of related. Now for the super-cool-battle part: You gave SCM the ability to magically enchant swords. Due to 8's relationship with the Espers, I was thinking of setting up a battle between the two towards the end of the story, with 8 summoning the Esper Chaos. If you haven't played XII, see Chaos (Summon). 8's mantra will be something like "Life is suffering blah blah blah", and then they can have their little fight, with a neat part being them fighting over Chaos's elemental swords as tools in the battle. Not going to spoil what I want exactly for the final outcome, but I would like SCM to mortally wound and then 8 retaliates with a strong spell, killing SCM. 8 can then go drag himself off and die somewhere, maybe doing something else important to the plot before he perishes if need be. It's sort of like a Delita-Ovelia instance. Thoughts?

1) Oops ^^ 2) That doesn't have to be the reason they fight each other. It could be that the Order asks SCM to map out a certain section of the "Final Dungeon" fo the story, and he just so happens to meet 8. What could happen is that SCM tries to magically call all the swords in the area to him and he manages to drag Chaos to him, along with 8. 3) lol, don't you know Life spells never work? As BH would say, its a Contrivance of the plot; it didn't work with Tellah, Galuf, Aeris, and it won't work with you. Muwahaha. If that's an issue, we can have 8 burn your character so badly with a Flare spell he's beyond repair. ^^

Heya SCM. I don't know if you did see it already, but currently, we are selecting our characters for the upcoming game, as well as waiting for a fourteenth player. Now, I have to be honest, that I do not know whether you choose so or it was assigned to you by one of the other players, but apparently, your game is to be VIII. So, I just wanted to ask, if everythings alright for you, and if you could perhaps make your character choice. If possible, we'd like for the game to start sometimes next week. Greetings, Sceada~''
A.J. two (The Flashlight) - "Always Avoid Alliteration" TALK - "When life gives you cherries, make a bomb." 20:40, December 3, 2010 (UTC)
Because everyone else had chosen a game, and because we hadn't gotten a 14th character yet, VIII was the only game left, and since SCM didn't choose one yet, it was the only game left for him to choose. So, he automatically got it. And since he probably doesn't play XIV, he kept it when we added a 14th player.

Aali's driver[]
Aali's driver is a rendering engine that allows for VIIPC1998 to work, work well, and allow lots of mods.
SE "bought" this from Aali and used it to make VIIPC2012. I'd go as far to say that they made VIIPC2012 because they discovered this and saw they could profit.
Aali's driver fixed some glitches, and therefore those glitches were fixed in VIIPC2012. There's some stuff mentioned on here. JBed (talk) 00:07, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
- OK. Still, I'm not really sure if saying "this bug is fixed specifically because of this driver" is useful/noteworthy, especially if we already note the changes in detail elsewhere. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 00:12, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Final Fantasy XIII[]
Hello, I noticed you reverted my edit in FFXIII. I found there is location information about the English version. Any Japanese words can be written as romanization in English, like "新生エオルゼア" can be written as "Shinsei Eoruzea" simply, and do not need to translate "新生" into "reborn". But in Chinese, there aren't any alphabet-liked system, so we have to translate "新生" in to "reborn" rather than a transliteration "Shinsei".
The same title would be translated into different name in Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Like Chrono Trigger was translated as "The Round of the Space" in Mainland, while Taiwanese name is "The Key of the Space", and a "Space Shuttle" in Hong Kong.
The translation problem is obviously important for a game, so I think it's necessary to introduce that. Or this the English language wiki site, so do not accept the Chinese translation info? Thanks.--113.200.212.74 10:16, December 31, 2013 (UTC)

Hello, just wondering about something which I stumbled across. Should images (take this for example) have full stops after a caption if it is just one word/not a full sentence? I've tried looking around on the policy pages and Manual of Style but I can't seem to find anything on it. Thanks in advance. RainbowShifter 10:36, January 1, 2014 (UTC)

Re: LP... Again[]
Hello SCM,
Well, I'm hoping to get two LPs done per month. The fact that the FFA LP hasn't been updated for a long time does worry me though. I'm not sure whether to wait until that's done or just start the FFX LP anyway. I was hoping I could get the first episode up from next week, but that's looking increasingly unlikely...
I'm going to be on the IRC tonight so hopefully we can discuss what's going to happen next and also to arrange a date for the next recording. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 12:30, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
The Spoony Hater[]
Looks like he's back again, with an Antwiler hater edit to Troll (Final Fantasy XI) by Special:Contributions/88.146.243.118 that Leon reverted. Seems he's been forced to vandalise elsewhere since Antwiler's page has been protected. He's made no further edits but given the last guy's penchant for using a bunch of proxies, it could well be the same person with absolutely no life. The admins at the IRC are all quiet and haven't responded to me asking for a block, but I know you'll see this soon enough. We should keep a good eye on him. Tia-Lewise 21:00, January 8, 2014 (UTC)
So...[]
Heard you finally found the Spoony/XIII vandal. Good on ya.
Questions, though: How can you tell which IP isn't being used by an open proxy? And what stops them striking again? Though I think I may have an answer to that second part, I want to be 100% sure; I admin a couple of wikis, and I've never once had to deal with vandalism that persistent, so I wouldn't know for sure. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 06:19, January 14, 2014 (UTC)
- It's not 100% accurate, but this place will tip you off if it appears to be an open proxy. Also, you know, if you ban them and they come back 5 minutes later, that tends to be a dead give-away.
- There's no way to completely stop them from coming back here. Wikipedia has that bot that actively blocks known open proxies and there are ways to just completely turn off anon contributions, but we don't have access to those things. If things get really bad, I think you can ask Wikia to temporarily turn off anon edits but that little spree was nowhere near as bad as it would have to be for Wikia to do that. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 06:36, January 14, 2014 (UTC)
- That and a lack of rampaging revenge means either 1) they gave up upon being found out or 2) they haven't realized it yet. If they decide to resurface, though, I'm sure we'll be more than ready. :B Lord Grammaticus (talk) 08:49, January 14, 2014 (UTC)
Re: Ixbran[]
Can you fix the page? All I did was hit undo on a vandal edit, change the summary, and it STILL blew up a bunch of tags. I hate using the Nook's desktop mode...
The edit was by Gayhza Killer or whoever (they keep uploading some tumblr image and leaving a weird comment), and iirc they were banned for it previously. Lord Grammaticus (talk) 06:43, January 15, 2014 (UTC)

Final Fantasy XIII troll attacks[]
Hello. I am one of the head administrators of the Final Fantasy Answers wiki, and my wiki has been experiencing attacks from a troll who is violently harassing any member that isn't a clear fan of Lightning or the game Final Fantasy XIII. It seems that you are, or have recently experienced the same threat.
My incident started shortly after the arrival of a very rude account named "Lilyheartslightning", who proceeded to display inexcusable behavior towards my members. This account was banned immediately after I learned of it, but since then, FFA gets attacked on occasion by anonymous IPs, all expressing the same intolerance for anyone with an obvious dislike of FFXIII. (Although I use the term "dislike" loosely as it seems even people who liked the game, but for instance, don't like Lightning, are being assaulted.) It then came to my attention through a mutual acquaintance, Catuse, that your vandal problem was traced back to this same account on your own wiki. So it seems that we share a common enemy.
I take the protection of my members very seriously, and this outrageous behavior has left me stressed. I don't know if there is much you can offer, but I am looking for advice. Since we've experienced incidents with the same person, I figured I would come to the ones who have shared my grief and combatted this unforgivable behavior to see if there is anything helpful I can learn from your staff or yourself.
If there is anything you can offer to assist me, I would be most grateful. Thank you for your time. (Lockexceles34. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:Lockexceles34 Because apparently my signature won't work here for some reason and I am completely source mode illiterate so I don't know how to make a link the right way.)
- God, talk about no life... Have you blocked the IPs they use as they pop up? I'm sure you have, but I just need to confirm.
Lord G. matters. Talk to me.
02:45, February 27, 2014 (UTC)
Yes I have. And on this last one, I actually tracked the IP using a website. The IP apparently originated from Ottawa, Canada, the same town LilyheartsLightning claims to be from, so I now have irrefutable evidence it's been the same person. [[File:LockeSig.jpg|120px|link=User:Lockexceles34]] 02:50, February 27, 2014 (UTC) <-- You know what, whenever you see this, just realize it's me until I figure out why my sig doesn't work here. - Lockexceles 34.
- For starters, thank you. It was your first incident with Lilyhearts that allowed us to catch her. When Cat pointed out that you guys were having problems there too I took a look, noticed the Lilyhearts block, we performed an IP check and that proved that she was behind all this.
- There's no real way to combat the proxy abuse, we don't have tools to automatically block proxies, as much as I would love it, so we're stuck playing whack-a-mole there. However, their real address range is pretty easy to find out, and we've put a block on it, which will at least slow her down a bit,as she seems to forget, quite often, that she's not on a proxy. If you want to try it, block 206.47.64.0/18. Spelt exactly like that, the software will interpret it as "block all addresses between 206.47.64.0 and 206.47.127.255". Also, don't make any block on it permanent, as this will affect other people from Ottawa who use the same ISP.
- And the reason your sig is not working here is because it's dependant on an image you uploaded to Final Fantasy Answers. When it's here it doesn't work because there's no LockeSig.jpg on this wiki. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 03:13, February 27, 2014 (UTC)
Thank you, I'll go try that out. [[File:LockeSig.jpg|120px|link=User:Lockexceles34]] 03:21, February 27, 2014 (UTC)
Can you answer me...[]
Why does the "Final Fantasy" wiki have Bravely Default information? With all respect, it's not a Final Fantasy game, and I have read the tiers about games considered to be here in the wiki, but Bravely Default has almost nothing (it's not based in a world of the franchise, it's not developed by any Square Enix member/team, it's not related even by story, and now it can be considered as a new franchise since it already has an upcoming sequel)... so why is it here?
By the way, like two years ago you said something about people "reading" a lot about Ito's pattern. I tell you that, I don't read, I played them. Nevermind, can we solve that again? I think it's unfair that most people welcome it here just because they like the game or something, when clearly has nothing to do with the franchise overall. GestahlianChocobot (talk) 01:52, March 20, 2014 (UTC)
- These are not the reasons people gave for why they think we should cover Bravely Default. The reasons given can be found here. We decided to cover it based on a vote where a majority decided that we should cover it.
- Asking any individual person won't get you any response besides a link to the place that it was decided. Policy can change at any time, but this a topic that I think most people are tired of. It may come up again when we inevitably discuss placing Bravely Second in our scope. JBed (talk) 02:10, March 20, 2014 (UTC)
Fair enough then, but again, in those terms, we could even combine the Kingdom Hearts wiki with this one (since it's far more related to the franchise than Bravely Default), or any kind of information about Chrono Trigger, since again, it's more related. Anyway, I see why people is tired of it, and it doesn't surprise me but I still believe it's kind of unfair that it was decided by a few editors and not in a bigger context. The fact it has magic, blue mages, red mages and it's turn-based doesn't make it a Final Fantasy game. In that context, even the upcoming Child of Light (which is referred as a "French Japanese Role Playing Game") applies to be in this wiki. And you mention this is gonna blow up again when the sequel(s) comes out, so why to wait until then? It's my opinion though. GestahlianChocobot (talk) 03:12, March 20, 2014 (UTC)
- I will repeat what JBed just said, we are tired of talking about this. It is a game made by SE that quite clearly takes heavy influence from classic FF, which enough people believes qualifies it as scope tier 1. End of discussion, do not use my talk page as a stepping off point to start this up again, please. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 04:37, March 20, 2014 (UTC)
All right almighty Archlord, I won't touch a basic, obvious point like that one again, since "enough" people believes that. GestahlianChocobot (talk) 03:35, March 21, 2014 (UTC)
E-Sumi-Yan's page[]
To quote your summary when you edited the page "OK, somebody's going to have to help the non-XIV-playing admin here; why does there appear to be a gimmick account repeatedly changing all the gender pronouns on this page? Looks like your typical bishie to me."
I have to agree with you- He is definatly a bishie (If I spelt that correctly). The FFXIV wiki also call him a male character, and the naming conventions of the Padaj race according to this wiki say that he is male.
However, this isn't the first time that account has said that the character is female- Your editing is the third time the page has had to be corrected. I thought that account had given up, but I presume incorrectly. ;( I was keeping an eye out on the character's page also- but Esumiyanisagirl (which is definatly a gimmick account) got past my defences :( My presumption is that the account thinks that E-Sumi is a girl and wants to 'correct' the page- even if we try and prove it incorrect.
That was my attempt to answer your question. I don't play XIV either (I would like to, but subscription is deterring me) but I just looked at several other websites to find out gender.
Thank you,
TMG- Why? (talk) 10:51, April 7, 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, I asked the XIV players on IRC immediately afterwards and they confirmed he's a guy. If it happens again, we'll break out the admin tools.
- And I wouldn't worry about not noticing it happen in the 4 minute window before I got to it. :P -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 12:47, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

Hi SCM, sorry for adding page to wrong place. Was just trying to recreate the same page as Diablocon but couldn't figure it out. I see you got me there. Can you tell me the difference between what I clicked and what I was supposed to click?
Ah, you actually answered my question as I was writing it to you, sorry about that, but thanks :D I get it.
Quality[]
- "Nope, higher quality wins out"
Both revisions had the exact same quality. One extracted from the data, and the same one from the data but doubling up all the pixels (so each 1x1 pixel is equivalent to 2x2). JBed (talk) 00:21, August 21, 2014 (UTC)
- So I should have said resolution, who cares? I don't see the point in nitpicking over one word. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 07:13, August 21, 2014 (UTC)
- I wasn't nitpicking a word. I thought you genuinely thought the quality was different.
- Now I know you're talking about resolution, your reason for reversion confuses me even more. I can double-up any image, then somehow it would be more preferable to the wiki? Us preferring a higher resolution just isn't true. If quality comes with resolution then sure, but that is not the case here. JBed (talk) 07:21, August 21, 2014 (UTC)
- No, not all cases. It'd look stupid for things that aren't sprite based.
- It can be hard to see small sprites on large screens (or high resolution on small screens) and wikia has some times in the past screwed up resizing algorithms and made things look blurry as hell when resized. Even when they're working as intended on the main section of the site, you can see blurriness in the file histories of the images Techno and I reverted today (and no, he didn't do it on my orders and I have no idea if he had the same reasons as me, I came by a few hours later and noticed that he missed a few). Having the sprites be 2x somewhat addresses these issues and has a very minimal impact on the size of pages we're putting them on.
- It's not essential, so I'm not saying we should go out and double the dimensions of every sprite we have on the site. I'm just saying that if we have them, and they're effectively identical to the base sprite, I don't see the point in going on a revert spree on them. Which is why I reverted back. You're free to revert, I don't really give that much of a shit and am not getting into an edit war over the resolution of a bunch of sprites. Just please don't bug me further about it if you do so. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 09:26, August 21, 2014 (UTC)
Explain[]
Seems you know the game at least to know it's not Wound damage. What exactly is it then? It seems like it functions the same (or from what I've seen in a video. Though I didn't see the person try to heal so don't know if that mattered...), or is it just nothing at all and I just jumped the gun?

Re: Sastasha[]
I went digging around in XIV's database type website, and I found images for treasure coffers. here is unshiny, here is moderately shiny and here is super shiny. Also I got an image for the boss icons, if you're curious. Also I figured we might need them at some point so I also scalped the soldiery and poetics icons. I wasn't feeling all too scrupulous. Anyways, just leaving these here for you and maybe me at some point later on in time, if you should happen to need them. Jimcloud 14:25, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Jim, I've been planning on making a project page we can store copies of all the map icons on so anyone can make a map (kinda odd you have to upload map icons from your computer but whatever). We've already got the tomestone images though - We've been using them here. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 22:06, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
Tidus's Mother[]
The revert is also pointless since there is no rule saying it needs to be exactly the way they were. --Cococrash11 (talk) 07:49, December 16, 2014 (UTC)
- I prefer old discussions to be left alone unless there is something that needs to be added to it. A section header doesn't qualify. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 08:01, December 16, 2014 (UTC)
Apologies[]
Hey SCM, sorry about that. He was banned for trolling on another wikia, and apparently wanted to argue so much he tracked down my old account here. Thanks for the response on my talk page, and sorry for the trouble. Bond_em7 (Owl Me) 01:04, February 11, 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the correction on Visage. I also noticed that I have the option to undo your edit. I've never seen that before Did you make me a mod? IronGasoline (talk) 06:56, March 22, 2015 (UTC)
- I cannot give staff rights to people, the undo button is standard for all users. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 08:26, March 22, 2015 (UTC)
Deleted Character section on List of Final Fantasy XV Characters removed[]
May I asked why you removed it? The template section of Final Fantasy XV also has a Deleted Character on it, so that should be include as well. ——Preceding unsigned comment was added by 121.54.32.166 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~.
- As far as I'm concerned, the List of Characters pages should only be listing characters that are actually in the game. I'm not actually sure why Stella is still listed on the navbox, when Versus and XV are now being treated on the site as separate games.
- Also "Deleted Characters" is a stupid way to describe characters that were removed in development and I want to slap some sense into whoever came up with that. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 22:13, September 13, 2015 (UTC)
- I'm so sorry that you feel that way, if you want Mr. Mage you could delete the "Deleted Characters" group from the navbox...no offense. --182.18.245.86 08:09, September 14, 2015 (UTC)
RE: Uploads[]
Understandable. I thought it was already lifted when the bot was taken care of. I'll probably take care of the uploads tomorrow. Got some FFRK stuff (for a collaboration with a game I have NO idea what they're collaborating with, joy) and FFX stuff to put up at the very least so yay.
Hey, I am honestly not trying to stress you out. I'm not a bad guy and I really do apologize if I am bothering. I honestly like that you're a good admin and that you have been communicating with me nicely. There's not a lot of people like that out there. I have absolutely no friends ( only a dying grandpa that I've been taking care of ). Would it be alright for us to keep in contact. Email? Anyways, maybe we can put our heads together. Thank you and I'm sorry again.
- Don't worry, I'm not stressed at all. And sorry, but I don't give out my contact details. Once that's been posted here, it's out there for everyone to see, and I'd rather not have some of the strange arguments I've seen here end up in my email inbox. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 23:04, January 24, 2016 (UTC)
Ah, I see now. Now I feel like a bigger idiot, haha. I guess it's from all that anime I watch, haha. Maybe that's why I created an anime review site in the first place. Maybe I was actually just trying to talk to people. *sigh*, but you know, I guess I do feel pretty good now that I was able to talk to someone about something. What do you expect from someone who has been living in solitude? I guess I was going to sooner or later end up talking about something.
scrublord, I need your help. I worked on a wiki page that someone created ( not sure how long ago ). It looks a little messy, but maybe you can help me work on it. It looks like someone created the page without doing any work on it and since I own the anime, I thought I'd contribute. Well, I'll leave the details to whoever wants to fix it up. I just want to write down all the dates and stuff. But, it looks trashed. I'd like to make it at least look neater. Do you have power to edit all wiki, or are you an admin for games section? If so, I could use your strength, oh mighty scrublord! The page is called Onichichi, but should have been written, "oni chichi". It's a hentai series. -Komishiro-
Walkthrough Deletion[]
Hi, thanks for the message! Actually, I didn't know my unfinished walkthrough was on the walkthrough space. Actually, it seems Shockstorm ended up putting my pages on that space before they could be shown as a full guide, as I see when I look at the article's edit history. News roll[]
Okay, I get that you need sources. But what you areffectively telling visitorss is that if it’s not a mainline title, it doesn’t matter. If anything, our Twitter feed doesn’t properly track all of the social games, which are huge in their own right. That we are covering Final Fantasy XIV is great, but these spinoffs deserve more airtime than they actually get.
That said, heavy bias was, I think, one of the reasons the print news project got canned. We also can't possibly cover every character (re)release that happens, even if some are going to debut. DFFOO, at least, publishes a monthly preview at the end of the preceding month. We could include that in our feed as well. And if they spew a torrent of loot, our followers deserve to know.
The second and final loot drop from June will arrive Sunday PM/Monday AM, just in case you’re curious. Swordzmanp236 (talk) 18:55, July 5, 2019 (UTC)
