I have over 1000 contacts. There are many duplicate records in iCloud due to certain VCF files imported (exported Google contacts) multiple times into iCloud. Usual solution is Apple’s native “merge duplicate” function, however for some reason it doesn’t appear and unavailable.

How can I merge duplicates when “merge duplicate” function isn’t available on iPhone?

According to an Apple customer service representative, “merge duplicate” function will not appear if total number of contacts is greater than 1000. This is confirmed by my experiments where I dropped number of contacts below 1000 by deleting and “merge duplicate” function appeared.
