10 years on Mars
Collected by: University of Michigan, School of Information
Archived since: Mar, 2014
Description: Our mission is to capture the public perception of the Mars rovers on their 10th anniversary, and to preserve and provide access to that information for future research. We will collect web pages that address the Mars rovers from three different perspectives on their 10th anniversary, and to preserve and provide access to that information for future research. Official government websites will provide the control information: what was officially released regarding the past ten years exploring Mars. As a counterpoint, we will also capture the popular news and science media’s relation of these events as well as the fringe (conspiracy theorizing, alien spotting and so on) perspectives and reactions.

Indiana LGBTQIA+ Resources
Collected by: Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing
Archived since: Apr, 2025
Description: This collection contains websites of Indiana organizations supporting LGBTQIA+ access to education, healthcare, legal assistance, and more – with a special focus on empowering transgender and nonbinary individuals, who face increasing discrimination and barriers to essential services. As the 2025 presidential administration threatens the visibility of this community, these resources are archived with the aim of ensuring access to vital information and support. The collector, a trans ally, acknowledges her privilege as a bisexual woman in a heterosexual marriage, and designed this collection for those who cannot as easily “hide” their identities. Due to the resource-heavy nature of this collection, efforts were made to capture external web pages while staying within a data budget – staying true to the original websites while deprioritizing less critical elements like forms and widgets. To protect privacy, sensitive personal information and discussion boards were avoided, with a focus on organizational websites rather than individuals service providers. Recognizing the potential risks to LGBTQIA+ individuals, the archivist remains open to privatizing or removing access to specific pages upon request.
