Microsoft office is a set of applications by Microsoft for performing office tasks. Widely used in the PC world, and possible to run in Ubuntu under wine. Microsoft provides no support for use in this manner and is proprietary software. Open Source alternatives such as Libre Office provide a workable alternative in most cases.
