Beckie Prime shared thisThis is what winning looks like!!!! 🏆🥰 A couple months ago, I announced that we were nominated for the CHFA Trailblazer Award and we were up against all of our friends. I said that even if Beck's Broth didn’t take home the win, I knew we’d still feel like we won anyways. This is exactly what I meant by that. 🥹 Less than 30 minutes after Mitsoh won the award, Brandon Markiw sent me this text. “I’m gonna break this thing in half and share with you guys” And this is what I love so much about this industry. We can compete, cheer each other on, celebrate each other’s wins, and genuinely want to see the people around us succeed. That’s so freaking special. Ian Gladue, Brandon Markiw, EmilyEmily Gracie, Mike Fata and the rest of the Mitsoh team… keep crushing it and paving the way for others. I love ya!!!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 Canadian Health Food Association #cpg #productinnovation

Beckie Prime shared thisThe coolest takeaway from this year’s CHFA? 🤭🏄🏼♀️ Not having to explain our product a billion times 😂 THIS YEAR WAS DIFFERENT. People knew the brand. 👯♀️ People knew the product. ☕️ People knew what we were about. 🥰 We didn’t have to spend the weekend convincing everyone that bone broth in your hot chocolate is, in fact, a thing. This shift felt HUGE. It took us three years to get here. Three years of showing up, educating, sampling, selling, explaining, re-explaining, and building Beck's Broth one conversation at a time. And this year, we finally felt it. We earned our spot at the table. 🥹🤍 If you’re a new and emerging brand, keep showing up babies!!!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 Canadian Health Food Association Propel Natural Brands Purity Life Health Products LP Domenique Mastronardi 🏔️☕️ #cpg #emergingbrands #productinnovation

Beckie Prime shared thisForget ROI. I’m Tracking Hugs ‼️❤️🔥🏆🤗 People always ask how we measure success at a trade show and what metrics we track. Being totally honest, lol, WE NORMALLY JUST WING IT BABY. This year I thought I’d finally change that. Be different. Be a numbers gal. So instead of just free flowing throughout the weekend, I decided to track all my hugs. Gosh this industry gives so many fucking hugs lol. Within the first 24 hours of CHFA weekend I already hugged over 75 people. Then I lost count (lol this screams my true personality, tired tho!!!!) Pretty successful weekend if you ask me?!?!??! Woof, I love this industry so much and I feel so freaking lucky to be in it. Sending extra love to all my CPG hunnies, thank you for making work feel EASY!!!! Beckie Prime shared thisBEEP BEEP I’m packing up and hitting the road!!!! 🤭🏔️🚗⭐️ This year threw me and my heart a little curveball, but instead of letting any fear take over, I decided to fully lean into it. ❤️🩹 I’ve spent the summer living out of my trailer in the sticks, and now that the seasons are shifting, I decided to take myself on an adventure before figuring out where I want to grow new roots. In October I’ll be driving from Ontario to Alberta (spending some time in Montana ofc!!!!!) then I’ll stay for about a month or so in Alberta before going to BC. 🏔️⛷️ I’m pretty much going to be a glorified couch surfer until I’m not lol. 🏄🏼♀️ So if you have any travel tips or cozy spare bedroom you wanna offer up, holla babies!!!! 🥰 PS look at this cute converter kit I painted hehe, I’ll throw a sleeping pad on top so I can be a little flexible on my drive out. PPS should out to the first CPG kings that are going to take me in OG GHEE (Vresh Foods) Vreshin Nagarajan

Beckie Prime shared thisLast night I found this gopro video of my best friend talking me through a hard moment on the side of a mountain. 🥹🏔️🥾 At this point, we’d been hiking for over 6 hours, through knee-deep snow and then scrambling up rock. I was so scared. And tired. Clinging to the mountain. One wrong move and it would have been all downhill, with nothing to catch my fall. We took a beat. Had a little cry. Then pushed on. And the reward was waiting for us as soon as we climbed onto that peak. 🥹 It was worth every hard step, every moment of doubt, and every decision to keep going. Sometimes, that’s exactly what scaling a business feels like. Extreme highs. Extreme lows. Moments where you’re exhausted, scared, and wondering if you can keep going. But putting yourself outside of your comfort zone forces you to grow, not only as a person, but as a friend and a leader. And if we aren’t growing, then what the heck are we even doing?!?! WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!!!!!!!

Beckie Prime liked thisBeckie Prime liked thisHere’s how I make money. And why I give so much advice away for free. I create content to help you grow as an entrepreneur and grow your business. What worked. What didn’t. Advice you can actually put to work today. If you want my help applying it to your business, I offer coaching by the hour and advisory support on annual retainers. I also invest my own capital into businesses and founders I believe in. Mid-Day Squares. Blume. Mitsoh. Nuts for Cheese. Purplesful Snacking… Then we get to work growing those businesses, and eventually selling them. I’ve been through that journey with Manitoba Harvest and Sol Cuisine. Different roles, same obsession with growth. Those experiences give me more lessons to share and more capital to invest. So it comes full circle: Share what I know. Help entrepreneurs grow. Invest alongside them. Build, grow and sell businesses. Bring the lessons right back here. My real point here is: Give your best stuff away for free. Share what you know. Make the introduction. Help someone get past a problem you’ve already figured out. What feels obvious to you could be a breakthrough for someone else. Trust me. It comes full circle. You can build a pretty incredible life helping other people build theirs.

Beckie Prime liked thisBeckie Prime liked thisWhat if the next breakout brand at Expo West is one you haven’t heard of yet? 👀 That was one of the questions on my mind heading to Toronto for CHFA, my first time visiting Toronto! I had the opportunity to attend with my colleague Haley Milano, and it was great meeting with so many innovative Canadian brands and founders across the better-for-you, natural, and wellness space. We were looking to connect with brands that are ready to take their next step and grow into the U.S. market, including brands that could be a great fit for both Natural Products Expo and Newtopia Now. 🇺🇸 What I love most about these shows is getting to meet the people behind the brands and hear their stories firsthand. There’s so much work, passion, and innovation behind the products we see on the shelves, and it’s exciting to discover brands that may be newer to the U.S. market but have already built something really special in Canada. So many great conversations, new relationships, and brands to keep an eye on. I’m excited to see where these connections lead! And, of course, I couldn’t make my first trip to Toronto without trying poutine. 🇨🇦🍟 Such a great trip and an even better experience. Already looking forward to the next one! #CHFA #CHFAToronto #ExpoWest #Newtopia #BetterForYou #NaturalProducts #Wellness #CanadianBrands #USExpansion #CPG #BrandDiscovery

Canterbury Coffee
8 in 10 coffee servings now include sugar, syrup, or milk, making personalization a baseline expectation. Canadian consumers are moving beyond the classics, seeking bold, indulgent flavours that deliver both comfort and novelty. This presents a strategic opportunity for operators to innovate without adding operational complexity. Visually appealing drinks can drive engagement and social traction, but busy service hours often make execution challenging. We recommend pumpable syrups and sauces for consistent flavour and reduced prep time, along with shelf-stable ingredients from trusted suppliers to minimize waste. Village Farms Introduces Industry-First, One-Way Aroma Valve in Cannabis Packaging Pure Sunfarms brand becomes the first licensed producer in Canada to let consumers see and smell flower before purchase DELTA, British Columbia, Oct. 22, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Village Farms International, Inc. (Nasdaq: VFF) today announced another Canadian first innovation from its Pure Sunfarms brand: the launch of a one-way aroma valve built directly into its dried flower packaging. The one-way aroma valve is pressure-activated and designed to release the flower’s scent only when gently squeezed, while preventing air, moisture, and contaminants from entering the bag. The innovation allows consumers to experience the natural aroma of the flower, without opening the package or compromising product integrity. Adapted from proven technology long used in premium coffee packaging, it represents the next evolution in cannabis packaging, bringing a sensory dimension never before available in the legal market. “Smell is powerful—it connects us instantly to how we feel, shaping our choices in ways we don’t even think about,” said Orville Bovenschen, President, Village Farms Canadian Cannabis. “First, we gave people a window so they could see the flower. Now, we’ve added a valve so they can smell it. It might seem like a small thing, but in cannabis, it’s huge. Because it’s more than just aroma: it’s increased accessibility, as well as memory, emotion, and experience all at once. These details matter because they bring everyone back to that first time we smelled and smoked great flower; that moment that stays with you. With this innovation, we’re proud to do that for all consumers.”

Here is a what that's dying to have the why uncovered... ...Weedcrawler.ca data from the Quebec cannabis market. I took the top 15 stores for total vape sales since they began last week and compared the top 15 stores for pre-rolls over the past 6 months...(I wanted a sufficiently long period to rule out seasonality and 6 months was the longest period I could get - the vape data will get "better" with more days in the base). ...you can see that stores that have been among the top sellers of vapes are not even in the top 15 for pre-rolls. And the reverse is also true, where top pre-roll store is not in the top 15 for vapes. There is a why sitting in the what (or maybe, a few whys) - something about the shopper - given most of the other causal factors should be the same store-to-store (pricing, availability), it would seem to fall more into shopper/consumer psychographics. Doing the same kind of ranking and comparisons across other formats should uncover other what's that could convert into leverageable insights via the why(s). It's part of analysis that CPG marketing and sales need to perform, to perform their jobs well.
