Sarah Chapman shared thisProud to share this feature by Business Insurance Magazine on the work we’re doing at Manulife to modernize insurance and in particular, the customer experience. Throughout the interview, I highlight how we’re moving from experimentation to execution — embedding digital, data, and AI into how marketing and customer decisions actually get made. Transformation isn’t about tools. It’s about clear leadership, disciplined choices, and teams who turn strategy into results. 🔗https://lnkd.in/eYCW-eTS

Sarah Chapman shared thisGreat to be with the team at the U.S. Retirement Sales & Service Meeting in San Diego, where we spoke about longevity and its implications for the future of retirement. As people live longer, the challenge extends beyond life span alone. Retirement outcomes require strength across health span and wealth span as well. That’s why Health, Wealth, and Longevity is a core pillar of our new enterprise strategy, and a critical focus for our Retirement business. Through our work, including the Longevity Institute, we are embedding this strategy into how we support advisors, plan sponsors, and participants, with a clear focus on resilience and long‑term outcomes. Sarah Chapman shared thisWhat a pleasure it was last night to join Anna Baird, Chief Customer Officer at Google and Alfredo C. M. Tan, Chief Digital & Information Officer at Canada Goose for a dynamic discussion on how AI is reshaping brand strategy, customer experience, and leadership at a global scale.Sarah Chapman shared this“It is not AI that replaces people. It is the person who knows how to use AI who does.” That insight from Sarah Chapman, PhD, Chief Marketing Officer GWAM & Head of Digital & Customer Centricity at Manulife, captured the core message of last night’s AI + Brand event in Toronto, held in partnership with Konrad, where Sarah, Alfredo C. M. Tan, Chief Digital and Information Officer at Canada Goose, and Anna Baird, Chief Customer Officer for Generative AI Go-to-Market at Google, explored how intelligence is reshaping brand strategy, customer experience, and leadership at a global scale. Thank you to everyone who joined us for an incredible evening filled with practical examples, candid lessons from the field, and a look into how senior leaders are navigating one of the most transformative shifts in modern business. Our 3 key takeaways: ✨ Adaptability is the new leadership skill Teams need creativity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to work fluidly with AI. Critical thinking paired with smart tools is the real edge. 🚀 AI creates impact when tied to purpose Breakthrough value comes from clear problems, strong data, and focused use cases. Luxury authentication and instant customer insights show what happens when AI is aligned to outcomes. 🤝 Human connection stays at the centre AI boosts speed and scale, but trust and context remain human. The brands that win will pair intelligent tools with authentic, thoughtful leadership. Sarah Chapman liked thisSome projects are memorable because of the outcome. Others are memorable because of the people and the journey. This one was both. Today, Manulife Canada launched its first AI-powered travel insurance experience through ChatGPT, becoming the first insurer in Canada to offer travel insurance quotes through one of the world's most widely used AI platforms. It’s one more way we’re meeting customers where they are, making it easier for them to explore travel insurance in the tools they already use. I had the privilege of being involved in this project from a marketing perspective, and I'm incredibly proud of what we achieved together. In just a few months, a bold idea turned into a customer-facing experience. This project reminded me that innovation isn't really about the technology. It's about bringing together smart people with different expertise, challenging how things have always been done, and staying focused on what matters most for customers. The technology is exciting. The collaboration that made it possible was even better. Thank you to Pamela W., Jamie Campbell, and Sarah Chapman for their leadership, and to Elisabeth Lamarche and Jenny Bersinic for leading this initiative from concept to launch. Most importantly, thank you to the entire team whose expertise, creativity, and determination made this possible. Excited to see what we build next. #AI #Innovation #CustomerExperience #DigitalTransformation #TravelInsurance #ChatGPT #Manulife #Teamwork #FutureOfWorkSarah Chapman liked thisManulife becomes the first in Canada to offer travel insurance quotes in ChatGPT, bringing trip planning and protection closer together. Sarah Chapman reacted on thisSarah Chapman reacted on thisThe Monday morning routine of catching CX767 to Ho Chi Minh City is behind me. What a rich experience it's been to double-hat as Interim Head of Brand, Content, CSR and Creative Services for Vietnam over the past few months. In a low-touch, highly regulated category like insurance, getting closer to product, distribution, and customer realities brings rich context to our work - and helps connect brand strategy more closely to our business priorities. Plus, it enabled me to dive back into hands-on brand building work - over the past few months, I had the opportunity to develop a recruitment campaign that achieved the highest recruitment numbers in the industry, advance our wealth repositioning journey through a product campaign, elevate the Asia Care Survey into a strategic asset supporting our wealth thought leadership platform and informing future campaigns, customer tools, and business decisions, and help shape the next phase of our campaign pipeline. A huge thank you to the Vietnam team for taking the time to share additional context, perspectives, and their rich expertise. What I learned from the team will definitely shape how I approach my regional role going forward. Thank you to Harshal, Tina, Thaddeus, Sonali, Sylvia, Nico and the entire Vietnam team - Ha, HaMinh, Lam Tung Thanh Mai, The Vinh, Thong, Don, Jade Bich, Vy, Hang and Trinh for the trust, support, and opportunity. It's been a privilege to be part of the journey. Hen gap lai team!

Battle for the Community: Key Features of Community Engagement in Professional Sport

Professional sport teams have acknowledged and embraced the importance of community engagement for decades, with the understanding that strong relationships with local communities are essential for the success of the organization. However, despite the prevalence and magnitude of these activities, there is limited research on their impact on an organization's success. The objective of the study was to investigate the differences in community engagement practices and strategies between professional sporting organizations operating within the same community. This comparative study examined four newly formed professional sport teams on the Gold Coast of Australia, only two of which survived their first three years of operation. Distinguishing features of community engagement practices between the teams in this investigation included community consultation, strategic direction, partnerships, and measurement and reporting of community engagement. This study has identified elements of community engagement that may ultimately contribute to greater positive impact and success of professional sporting organizations.

APRA’s latest remarks to the 2026 COBA CEO & Chairs Forum highlights a powerful opportunity for the mutuals sector to redefine their future. While the landscape is evolving quickly, APRA emphasises that mutuals are uniquely positioned to innovate, collaborate, and leverage their community‑driven strengths to thrive in a changing landscape. With technology, AI, and shared service models becoming more accessible than ever, smaller mutuals have a real chance to modernise efficiently, strengthen resilience, collaborate with peers and accelerate growth without needing the scale of major banks. APRA’s message is ultimately optimistic: mutuals that embrace smart investment, deepen collaboration, and stay true to their member‑first purpose can turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s competitive advantages. https://lnkd.in/g6FvDXqm

A significant development for Canadian football. Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment signalling it is “open for business” to institutional investors reflects more than a capital raise. It reflects structural maturity. An integrated commercial model that brings together: • Men’s and Women’s National Team rights • A Tier 1 domestic league (CPL) • A growing international media rights portfolio (Concacaf, Bundesliga, NWSL and more to come) • A direct-to-consumer OTT platform in OneSoccer …all housed within one ecosystem, is rare in global sport. Most markets are fragmented — federation rights separated from leagues, media divorced from commercial strategy, data disconnected from distribution. Alignment at this level creates scale, efficiency and long-term enterprise value. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup on home soil, Canadian Premier League expansion plans, ongoing rights acquisition strategy and a sharpened commercial agreement with Canada Soccer now in place, the timing is strategic. However, institutional capital in sport today is sophisticated. It looks for: • Governance stability • Media distribution certainty • Data and digital growth capability • Scalable commercial inventory • Long-term structural upside The opportunity here is not simply to raise capital. It is to accelerate an ecosystem — from grassroots to national teams — in one of the strongest economies globally, within the fastest-growing major sport in the country. The window created by 2026 will not remain open indefinitely. The right partner won’t just fund growth — they will help shape it. https://lnkd.in/g-SV7ePw
