You may have noticed that I've stepped down as a moderator on Home Improvement. It actually went a couple of months ago, but I completely forgot to post this then, so I'm doing it now - better late than never!

It's something I've been thinking about for a while, for various reasons, but the main reason is that I'm hoping to retire from my job by the end of the year and as a result I won't have to sit at a computer all day every day so I won't have nearly as much "free" time to moderate. I have already reduced my moderation effort and it was a good time to "retire" from moderating as well.

I don't know how much time I'll be online in the future, but I will be around from time to time.

    I still have a bit left in me and SO has settled down enough to where it was feasible to take up your old diamond here. You're missed in the halls of diamond, though. Hope your retirement goes well. Commented Nov 25 at 17:25

    @Machavity that's indeed one upside of the recent progress on AI... Less moderation required on SE and especially SO with their 25-fold decrease in number of questions so far. Commented yesterday
