I have British citizenship but needed to apply for a US B2 visa in order to travel to the United States, because I recently traveled to Iraq. I got the visa successfully.

We're in process of booking tickets. We recently had a newborn, who has not traveled to Iraq (or any other country). Do we only need to apply for ESTA for the newborn? Or does he also need B2 visa? I'm assuming the former because he hasn't traveled anywhere and is a British citizen himself now?

I don't see any reason why the child cannot visit the US on the Visa Waiver Program, as the child is a national of a VWP-eligible country and has not traveled to a country nor is a dual national of a country that would make them ineligible for VWP. I am not aware of any rule that a child cannot travel on VWP if a parent is not traveling on VWP. So just apply for an ESTA for the child.
