For the "hill" part of the question, see french.stackexchange.com/questions/52625/…guillaume31– guillaume312023-10-02 07:33:30 +00:00Commented Oct 2, 2023 at 7:33

1The correct translation will also probably depend on why it's a hill to die on - because the subject is slippery/dangerous/controversial, or just because that person is reacting irrationally to something (with possibly very low stakes)? I'm not sure a single generic French phrase can cover all potential meanings and keep the possible implied irony.guillaume31– guillaume312023-10-02 07:53:37 +00:00Commented Oct 2, 2023 at 7:53

3"A hill to die on" is really hard to translate in French but "De toutes les <Noun>" is the best way to translate "Out of all the <Noun>".Teleporting Goat– Teleporting Goat2023-10-02 08:36:37 +00:00Commented Oct 2, 2023 at 8:36

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. choix-de-mot), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
