After approval, the manuscript’s documents will be sent to the desktop publishing team to standardize publishing services and review and lay out articles. Proofreading versions will be emailed to the corresponding author for corrections. Authors must ensure that all coauthors review and approve the final version of the manuscript. The editor-in-chief may reverse the acceptance decision if the authors refuse or do not respond on time to communications requesting corrections and proofreading.

GGA publishes all articles in English and in their original submission language. When considered of special interest to the GGA audience, editors may consider publishing the manuscript in the three languages accepted by the journal.

Authors are responsible for depositing any supplementary materials required for the manuscript in a repository that adopts F.A.I.R. principles and informing the publishing team of the respective URLs and Digital Object Identifier (DOI). The links to the supplementary materials (including data sets, additional figures, or multimedia content) will be published alongside the main article. If authors refuse to make supplementary files available in public repositories, the Editor-in-Chief may reverse the preliminary acceptance decision.

Authors agree with the journal policies on retractions or corrections after publication. They must understand that editors may require corrections, revisions, and modifications to the content of the manuscripts if misconduct is detected or significant errors are found in their published work. Additionally, editors can request anonymized access to databases and analyses (when not available in open access) to assess alleged problems or suspected misconduct after publication. Editors will always contact the lead author (corresponding author) for clarifications.

After acceptance, Brazilian authors are invited to write a concise press release, which will be shared with Agência Bori, a unique service in Brazil that supports press coverage of unpublished research from Brazilian institutions and authors nationwide. Founded in 2020, Bori has diversity at its core and combines the expertise of those who understand journalism and science, selecting the most relevant scientific information to communicate to the press. Authors may also be invited to record a short video to disseminate their research in the journal’s social media.

GGA encourages authors to self-archive their articles, including published articles, in an open-access repository. Authors can reuse their articles’ abstract and citation information (e.g., title, authors’ names, publication dates) anywhere and at any time, including on social media platforms like Facebook, blogs, and Twitter/X, as long as a hyperlink to the article is provided, directing the user to GGA’s website. Preferably, the hyperlink should include the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) found in the article’s citation information online.

GGA establishes partnerships and supports initiatives to enhance recognition for peer reviewers’ extensive efforts with a cross-publisher certification through ReviewerCredits. When invited to review a manuscript for our journal, reviewers can subscribe and choose to earn tangible credit points that can be exchanged for rewards, including discounts on services, courses, and training opportunities.
