I have 3 items, a dollar that was gifted to me by a loved one that is not family and holds significant personal value, a polaroid of me amd my long distance girlfriend which she paid for and gave to me, and a polaroid of my girlfriend, which she took and gave to me, he has these things because they were in the back of my old phone before i got kicked out of the house for stupid reasons, and he took the phone (rightfully because he was paying for it) but he is trying to withhold those items from me and they have immense sentimental value to and i cannot lose those, what could i do?

For legal reasons, Law Stack Exchange cannot give legal advice on specific cases. It exists for hobbyists to compare legal systems worldwide. That being said, this sounds very much like a social rather than legal problem. Do you have relatives who are in speaking terms with both of you and able to mediate? Other than that, a minor can own property and the legal guardian has the right and duty to regulate what the minor does with it. That dollar will be tricky, your parent could deposit it in the bank and then give you "a dollar" the day you turn 18.o.m.– o.m.2025-11-24 14:58:29 +00:00Commented Nov 24 at 14:58
