Board

The board oversees Block & Quill Ltd and its operations, as its ultimate corporate authority. It consists of five elected members and two permanent members. The two permanent members are the directors of the company.

The board is responsible for:

• Supervising the wiki's operations and communicating with its host (Weird Gloop) on behalf of the wiki communities
• Serving as an official communication channel and point of contact for third parties (e.g. Mojang Studios)
• Making sure that the decisions made by the company are in the best interests of the editors of all wikis, with help from the wiki representatives
• Assisting in the long-term strategic planning for the company
• Assisting in the day-to-day governance of the company, including:
  • Reviewing the performance of company management
  • Approving budget decisions and reviewing budget requests
  • Attend periodic board meetings to discuss all of the above, and more

In addition, board members have administrator permissions on the Meta Wiki.

The current board was elected by the wiki community in the 2025 elections.

Wiki representatives are not proper members of the board, but are selected by the community of their respective language wiki. Their task is to represent their respective wiki and facilitate communication with the board as a spokesperson for their community.

It is possible to contact the boards in order to bring matters or concerns to its attention. The board can be contacted:

It is also possible to message a board member directly using their provided Discord handle.

The board meets at least once per calendar year, on the Block & Quill Discord server and/or Jitsi Meet, allowing everyone to join in on the public parts of the meetings. Notes are taken during the meeting, from which meeting minutes are later written which published after approval by the board members.

Elections take place at least yearly for the five seats up for election, sooner if conditions specified in the articles of association are met.
