I saw this answer which was written by Answer Bot which (as far as I know) shouldn't (yet) post anything to a public site and especially not to any public site that doesn't even have Answer Bot.

The parent question of that answer was migrated from UX Stack Exchange which has Answer Bot so it seems the migration "showed" that answer for some reason as noted by cocomac.

[EDIT]

The migration has been rejected resulting in the post being back on UX SE with the answer being hidden. The migrated version of the post with the answer is available using the Wayback machine thanks to Jeremy.

Oh, that’s awesome. Posts are presumably hidden by being associated with the specially-flagged account, and it doesn’t exist on the migration target so we finally get to see one properly. Commented Jan 19 at 22:07

This has been resolved. We have made updates to ensure that when a question is migrated, the Answer Bot answer will not be migrated alongside it, but the question can still be migrated.

If both the migration origin and destination site have Answer Bot enabled and it would meet the criteria for an Answer Bot answer on the destination, should it be preserved? Commented Feb 4 at 18:03

"will not be migrated along with its question" - this sounds really odd, unless I miss something. Do you mean that now a question that has at least one answer posted by Overflow AI Bot (user id -2) can't be migrated by site moderators to a different site? Commented Feb 4 at 18:27

@ShadowWizard I read that as "when a question is migrated, the Answer Bot answer will not be migrated alongside it, but the question can still be migrated". Although the phrasing is admittedly somewhat confusing. Commented Feb 4 at 18:35

@cocomac so the answer will become a zombie, without a parent question? This is even more confusing. Commented Feb 4 at 18:48

I think if a question is migrated, it (with its id etc) technically still exists on the source site. Commented Feb 4 at 18:56

@cocomac I updated using your suggested phrasing, thank you. Commented Feb 4 at 19:04

@dan1st That is correct. Commented Feb 4 at 19:06
  • Yep, migrated Q&As still exist on the original site; they're just automatically deleted (and then undeleted if the migration ends up being rejected). Commented Feb 5 at 19:40
  • @V2Blast FYI, your text only applies to the migrated answers, not to the question. Migration stub questions are never automatically undeleted. They still exist immediately after the migration and are deleted 30 days later by a weekly script, but any actions that cause the migration to be rejected that happen after that will simply do nothing.
