Nathan 'Dinnerbone' Adams is a Software Engineer[6] at Mojang Studios who works on Java Edition and the Minecraft Launcher.
About
[edit | edit source]A common trope attributed to Dinnerbone is that he is commonly displayed as being upside-down.[7][8] His Twitter avatar is flipped[9] and his user model (as well as any mob named "Dinnerbone") is rendered upside-down.[8] Shortly after starting Bukkit, Dinnerbone was hired by Curse where he worked until joining Mojang Studios on February 28, 2012 to develop the mod API.[10][11] In October 2015, he announced that he would be "taking a break from Minecraft PC development for a few months."[12] Later, in February 2016, he further elaborated that though he would continue on other projects at Mojang, he had left the Minecraft team.[13] On February 6, 2017, Dinnerbone confirmed he had rejoined the Minecraft team.[14] On July 30, 2022, he claimed that he had been off work for 1.5 years for his health.[15] On February 18, 2025, he announced that he's coming back on developing Minecraft.[16]
Biography
[edit | edit source]Nathan Adams is originally from Shrewsbury, United Kingdom. He learned programming through creating MSN bots at age 10.[5][17] After finishing secondary school, Dinnerbone was rejected from college,[18] so he found a job with a tiny web development company, but was made redundant after a few years.
In 2013 he was engaged to Aleksandra 'Missmarzenia' Zając.[19] He announced on August 24, 2016 that he and Aleksandra were expecting a baby boy.[20][21] The baby was later born on October 2, 2016.[22] In some time between 2016 and 2021 they broke up.[23]
In 2019 he obtained Swedish citizenship.

[edit | edit source]Dinnerbone was face of migration campaign in 2020. During the campaign Minecraft account on Youtube released two videos featuring him as Minecraft character.

[edit | edit source]Dinnerbone is a super nice guy, and adds lots of fancy features to Minecraft. He wears ribbons in his hair, and smells of rich mahogany and leather-bound books. He is the co-president of the country of Bonerstan, along with Marc. If you kill him in Minecraft, he drops a kitten. Correction: he gently sets down a kitten, because why would he ever DROP a kitten? He's way too nice for that.

- Dinnerbone's username is a tribute to an old friend of his named Teabone (T-bone).[28]
- Dinnerbone's favorite color is blue, his favorite foods are lasagna and pizza, and his "guilty pleasure" is milkshakes.[29]
- If the player uses a name tag titled "Dinnerbone", on most mobs it will turn upside-down. This naturally extends to himself. The same effect is applied when naming a mob "Grumm".
- Dinnerbone could sometimes be found on the MindCrack server with other YouTubers.
- Dinnerbone was a member of the Hermitcraft server during its early days.
- Dinnerbone's bodyguard in A Fun Announcement by Dinnerbone flipped him right side up. He remains this way throughout both migration videos.
- Dinnerbone makes an appearance in the trailer for Element Animation's "T.E.A.V.S.R.P" (The Element Animation Villager Sounds Resource Pack),[30] which would later be used for an April Fools' Day joke.
- Dinnerbone changed his Minecraft account name to “GormanRoddy” on January 7, 2026 before he changed it back 13 hours later.[31]
