Half an hour into Night Moves (1975), Harry meets Paula, who informs him the girl he's tracking is nearby, and he agrees to follow her to the spot in his car. As they pull away (32m09s), the soundtrack plays this casually upbeat instrumental number for a couple minutes, until the pair arrive at their destination.
That music is really perfect for the moment: the two have chemistry, and Paula's wary but deft charms have got Harry in a flirtatious frame of mind.
What is that music? I don't see anything credited in the film or on IMDb or Wikipedia. I suspect it's not a specific song, but something bespoke that epitomizes (for me) some kind of halcyon, free-love hippy era. It sounds very familiar to me, which makes me think it's at least representative of a genre.
