File Explorer & Player brings files from your Mac or Windows PC to iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Browse folders, stream music and videos, open photos and documents, or save files to your Offline Library.

Your computer library, within reach

Find your computer with Remote Helper, scan its QR code on iPhone or iPad, or enter its address manually. Keep favorite folders close and use search, filters, and sorting to find items in the current view.

Stream supported media without copying it first. The player remembers playback progress and offers subtitles, audio-track selection, and playback speed controls. You can also read EPUB and FB2 books and return to your reading position.

Keep a library offline

Choose Save Offline for files or folders on your computer. Track downloads in the app, then open completed files from your local library when the computer is unavailable.

On iPhone and iPad, you can also use Import from Files or Import Photos/Videos to add local content. These are copies in the app’s library, not automatic folder synchronization.

For privacy on iPhone and iPad, set a six-digit app passcode and enable Face ID or Touch ID where available.

Set up your connection

  1. Install and open the free Remote Helper on your Mac or Windows PC.
  2. Connect the computer and your iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV to the same local network.
  3. Choose Add Device in File Explorer & Player and approve access when prompted.

The File Explorer setup guide covers connections, streaming, offline downloads, and imports.
