Around 2022/2023 Penguin re-released 40 new audiobook version of the Discworld stories.

The announcement makes it fairly clear that each sub-series, Witches, Guards, Wizards etc, has a dedicated narrator and that the voice of Death and The Footnotes is consistent across the whole series.

...with Bill Nighy as the voice of the footnotes, and Peter Serafinowicz as the voice of Death.

Some of the individual book pages though list more than 3 readers. Carpe Jugulum and Guards! Guards!. But these additional readers don't seem to follow through into other books either within the sub-series or elsewhere.

Do any additional voice actors provide the voice of single specific characters across multiple volumes of the audiobook series?

Yes, in fact, the additional actor you point out in Carpe Jugulum (Steven Cree as the voice of the Nac Mac Feegles) also voices the Nac Mac Feegles in all the other books they show up - The Wee Free Men, A Hat Full of Sky, Wintersmith, I Shall Wear Midnight, The Shepherd's Crown and Tiffany Aching's Guide to Being a Witch. The additional actor in Guards! Guards! just seems to be Ben Aaronovitch reading the afterword, not a part of the book itself (I note he also wrote an introduction for the paper version of the book).

  • At least one more then. I will keep checking as I go through if there's any more consistency. I'd hoped to get a common Vimes and Weatherwax, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Commented Jan 27, 2025 at 10:05
