Let me ask you.

I installed Ubuntu on my computer and deleted Windows. Now I go back to Windows and when I go to the partition selection section, I see nothing, while my SSD still has 512GB.

If I boot into Ubuntu, it shows Grub. The information is as in picture below.

Unclear what you are asking. If you want to fully utilize the drive for Ubuntu,1. Boot from USB and delete all partitions, making the whole drive unallocated, empty space. 2. Reinstall Ubuntu. Commented Sep 21 at 3:52
  • To "reset" the SSD simply use Linux + dd for overwriting the first few KB with zeros and reboot. Or use Windows diskpart and "clean" the SSD. Commented Sep 21 at 10:00
  • @Robert, do not overwrite an SSD with zeroes. The more it is written to, that sooner the SSD will be "used up". However, as you state, you can use dd or diskpart to remove all partitions. Commented Sep 21 at 18:07
  • @DrMoishePippik I never wrote to overwrite the whole SSD, just the first few KB. But even overwriting the whole SSD with zeros shouldn't have a negative effect on the SSD as a zero out sector is to my knowledge modtly handled by SSDs like trimmed sector. So zeroing a sector just makes the SSD "unlink" the sector in the sector mapping table. Commented Sep 21 at 21:54

The error message shown in the question's first image explains your problem. This is repeated below.

We couldn't find any drives. To get a storage driver, click Load driver.

I can recreate a situation similar to yours by using VirtualBox. Below is image similar to what is posted in the question.

grub

In my virtual machine, the drive is attached to a LsiLogic SCSI controller. (According to this website, the LsiLogic LSI53c1030 SCSI controller is being emulated.) Grub was installed by using Ubuntu Live. Grub is capable accessing this drive arrangement. However, when booting to a Windows 10 installer, I get the image below, which is similar to what is posted in the question.

windows installer

In my case, I downloaded the LSIMPT_SCSI_WinVista_1-28-03.zip file from Broadcom (which acquired Lsi Logic) and after loading the driver, the screen changed to what is shown below.

after driver
