It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Heidi Klum’s Halloween costume reveal.
The Queen of All Hallow’s Eve shared a post on Instagram Oct. 31, officially announcing to the world that this year, she has dressed up as ... an enormous, detached hand!
The supermodel unveiled the costume at her Halloween party at restaurant Cathédrale in Manhattan. And in true Klum fashion, she went all out bringing the look to life.
Klum’s costume, which involves plenty of prosthetics and special effects, features long, manicured nails and even some giant rings. But things get gory around the “wrist” area, aka Klum’s head, where severed veins and tendons hang and sway.
Hours earlier, Klum kickstarted the countdown to her big reveal by visiting New York’s Empire State Building and lighting up the top in ghoulish green.
For days, the supermodel and television personality has been dropping hints about her costume. On Oct. 24, Klum shared a close-up shot of some material covered in glossy gel. Portions of the costume resembled pink brains while other parts looked like small, yellowish craters.
Days later, she shared an equally ominous photo of some pink, worm-like strands of mystery material. The hints led some fans to suspect that she was going to dress up as the digestive system or a brain.
As the hour of celebration drew near on the day of Halloween, she posted several other clues on Instagram, including many shots of the special effects process.
Regardless, people were certain that she would cook. And cook Klum did.
For years, Klum has remained the gold standard for Halloween costumes. Her annual bash, which brings out all the stars, has become one of the most hotly-anticipated events, with Klum’s entrance being the ultimate highlight.
In the past, she’s dressed up as everything from an enormous worm to last year’s Medusa. And oftentimes her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, is part of the fun.
