Madiha Kanwal shared thisWhat a day this was. Feedzai Fusion London brought together customers, partners, industry leaders and colleagues for conversations spanning fraud, scams, identity, AI, data and trust. Three conversations particularly stayed with me: 🔹 Better decisions: preparation, resilience and operational effectiveness when the stakes are high. 🔹 Proportionate friction: using the right intervention at the right moment to help “unstick” a customer from a scam. 🔹 Connected networks: because fraud is a network problem, and tackling it requires better signals and collaboration across the ecosystem. And then came the agentic era, with the launch of Feedzai Farol. Just as valuable were the conversations between sessions, hearing directly from customers, sharing experiences and seeing new connections form. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, travelled to be there and contributed to the conversations, and to the Feedzai team behind the scenes who brought it all together. I’ve captured some of the thinking that stayed with me in the blog below 👇 #FusionLDN #FraudPrevention #FinancialCrime #AgenticAI #FeedzaiMadiha Kanwal shared thisWhat happens at Feedzai Fusion definitely does not stay at Feedzai Fusion! 🔥 🚀 With the top professionals in banking, AI, tech, law enforcement, and financial crime prevention gathered, bold ideas and inspiring takes are bound to happen. Madiha Kanwal shared thisOne year at Feedzai and a new chapter begins. Hard to believe it’s already been a year. I’ve really enjoyed working closely with customers, navigating the ever-changing fraud landscape, and helping tackle the regulatory, operational and industry challenges that come with it. Now I’m moving into a new role as Senior Product Marketing Manager, bringing that customer and fraud perspective closer to product, positioning and go-to-market. Looking forward to being challenged in a different way, learning plenty and seeing where this next chapter takes me. A little LEGO souvenir to mark one year at Feedzai. Apparently I’m a captain now, according to my son, who kindly donated the hat to complete the look. 😄

From authorised push payment scams to social engineering and account takeover, financial institutions are facing increasingly sophisticated fraud typologies. Strengthening fraud capability across teams is now critical. I’ve just completed another ACAMS Certified Anti Fraud Specialist (CAFS) Virtual Classroom with a highly engaged group of anti financial crime professionals. During the sessions, we explored several areas that are fundamental for modern fraud programmes. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱: • Building effective Fraud Risk Management frameworks by aligning governance, risk assessments, and controls across the organisation • Fraud investigations using structured investigative thinking and evidence based approaches • Fraud detection and analytics using data, technology, and behavioural insights to identify emerging fraud patterns One of the most valuable aspects of the virtual classroom is the live discussion and Q&A. Participants bring real operational challenges and exchange perspectives across institutions, markets, and fraud typologies. Together with Holger Pauco-Dirscherl, CAMS-RM/Audit/FCI, CGSS, CFE, CCM and Dave Dekkers, CAMS, CAMS Audit and FCI, CAFS, CFE, CSS, it was a pleasure guiding these discussions and supporting professionals preparing for the CAFS certification. Madiha Kanwal reposted thisMadiha Kanwal reposted thisInternational Fraud Week is officially underway and Feedzai’s Daniel Holmes is fundamentally optimistic. Why? Because a lot of what has been talked about is finally happening. This includes: ✅ Financial institutions are shifting away from fragmented solutions to create a single view of all customer interactions. ✅ Fraud is increasingly being measured in terms of its impact on people, not just profit losses. ✅ Global regulations are moving towards an “ecosystem of carefulness” that shares fraud and scam liability among key players, including banks, telecom companies, social media firms, and email providers. Even as financial firms close more suspected mule accounts, criminals simply bounce stolen funds across multi-account chains before cashing out. They are no longer exploiting weaknesses within organisations but exploiting the gaps between them. To stop them, we have to strike earlier and disrupt activity across the entire ecosystem. No single industry sector sees the full picture: Tech platforms see where criminals recruit and target. Telecoms providers see how they connect and communicate. Financial services firms see where the money flows. As the Home Office sets out a renewed focus on intelligence sharing and coordinated action, industry is challenged with moving information faster than criminals move money. Through Stop Scams UK, organisations across financial services, tech and telecoms are working together to close the gaps fraudsters rely on and prevent harm before it occurs. Madiha Kanwal reacted on thisMadiha Kanwal reacted on thisOctober is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and this year, we’re challenging the standard advice about digital safety 🛡️ Every October, businesses and media share a familiar list of best practices for customers to protect themselves online, from updating their passwords to avoiding suspicious links to activating MFA. While this advice is well-meaning, it has an unfortunate side effect: it unfairly places the burden of online safety squarely on the consumers. In reality, people can do everything right and still have their information stolen and abused in an attack. Upstream infrastructure gaps and data breaches at companies people know and trust happen, and the consumer is ultimately most impacted. Andy Renshaw, SVP of Product Management and Strategy at Feedzai, kicks off Cybersecurity Awareness Month with a new playbook for consumer protection that actually meets the challenges and realities of today’s cyberlandscape. Stay tuned throughout this month, as we explore how cybersecurity expands across identity protection, AML, and fraud prevention to ensure the financial system keeps people safe by design 💪 #CybersecurityAwarenessMonthCybersecurity Awareness Month Needs a Reality CheckCybersecurity Awareness Month Needs a Reality CheckFeedzai

Madiha Kanwal liked thisMadiha Kanwal liked thisBioCatch's 2026 Global Scams Report has just been published and my initial reaction is captured below. In particular, it prompted me to think more closely about purchase scams – which, if we need reminding, are over 70% of the scam cases recorded in the UK (UK Finance figures), as well as forming a third of the scams reported globally to BioCatch. Purchase scams are often overlooked because of the larger amounts involved in investment and romance scams. Yet the enablers driving this type of scam are put in front of all of us every single day in the form of fake and misleading adverts on social media and in otherwise harmless casual gaming apps, as just one example. Why is it so difficult to report these and get action taken against such obvious fakes? Is it any wonder that so many people get taken in? A few reflections / takeaways from me: Talent: We need brilliant "10x" Engineers, but give me someone smart, hungry, with the right mindset and willingness to learn … I’d want them on my team any day. Some of our ex-Apprentices are the best I’ve seen. Ways of working: I think fixed formality, rigid roadmaps, and ties [😊] are for museums. Agility, innovation, rapid problem solving and trainers dominate my day. Ambition: Vital. We’re the UK’s largest fintech and continuing to invest and grow at real pace. #HelpingBritainProsper

Thinking of using consumer crypto wallets for B2B operations? Sending USDC payments seems straightforward. But the challenges add up fast. Compliance risks. Manual KYC and AML processes. Consumer-grade security for enterprise volumes. Retail wallets aren't built for the complexities of enterprise payments. B2B needs infrastructure that automates reconciliation, provides treasury-grade controls, and handles compliance. That's what alfred was built for.

In the evolving world of card payments, the chargeback cycle plays a crucial role in protecting customers, ensuring merchant accountability, and maintaining the overall trust in the payments ecosystem. From an issuer’s perspective, the chargeback process follows a well-defined sequence to resolve customer disputes effectively: 1️⃣ Dispute Initiation – The cardholder reports an unauthorized or unsatisfactory transaction to the issuer. 2️⃣ Provisional Credit & Investigation – The issuer reviews transaction details, assigns a provisional credit, and investigates the claim. 3️⃣ Chargeback Filing – If valid, the issuer raises a chargeback to the acquirer through the card network. 4️⃣ Merchant Representment – The acquirer/merchant provides supporting evidence to contest the claim. 5️⃣ Issuer Review & Decision – The issuer evaluates the merchant’s evidence and decides whether to accept or escalate. 6️⃣ Arbitration (if required) – The card network makes the final ruling if both sides disagree. For issuers, success in this cycle depends on timely action, accurate documentation, and effective fraud analytics. Leveraging automation and data intelligence can significantly reduce handling time and operational losses while improving customer trust. Ultimately, a strong chargeback management framework is not just about dispute resolution — it’s about ensuring fairness, transparency, and confidence in every transaction. #Chargebacks #Payments #Banking #Issuer #RiskManagement #CustomerExperience #Compliance #Fintech #fiserv Fiserv

📊 30 minutes per merchant. 4 days to get them live. Every document chased by hand. That was merchant onboarding at Pinch Payments before they automated their compliance stack. Pinch is an Australian PayFac serving 2,000+ merchants across Australia and New Zealand, now part of Fiserv. As they scaled, manual KYC and AML processes became the bottleneck. 🤝 "What stood out about FrankieOne was the genuine willingness to collaborate and build something tailored to our business. Within three months we saw a 300% increase in onboarding capacity and cut merchant turnaround from four days to under 24 hours." The EU has signed off on new rules that make banks and payment providers cover customers’ losses if they don’t do enough to stop fraud, like failing to block suspicious transactions. The rules also put pressure on big online platforms, which will now have to take down scam ads or risk being held financially responsible for the damage they cause. We should start taking notes... https://lnkd.in/g2TczM-v

Compliance expectations for MTOs are rising across all major markets. Consumer Duty, APP-fraud safeguards, clearer fee disclosure and enhanced KYC are now core regulatory priorities. For cross-border operators, aligning product, messaging and customer support with these requirements will determine market readiness and customer trust through 2026. Most bank fraud doesn't start with a suspicious transaction, it starts with a behaviour your systems aren't watching. Overrides, policy exceptions, alert dismissals: siloed monitoring misses the pattern until regulators are already at the door. konaAI's Banking 360 unifies behavioural, transactional, and operational risk into one real-time oversight layer aligned to OCC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, FinCEN, and DOJ expectations. Your peers in compliance are already rethinking their approach, read our latest blog to see why: https://lnkd.in/gg5tQBGh

🌟 9 Leadership Styles in Financial Crime Prevention (And why no single approach works for every AML team) I’ve seen this repeatedly across AML, Sanctions, KYC, and FIU functions: 👉 Great financial crime leaders don’t all “look” the same. 👉 They don’t manage the same way. 👉 And they shouldn’t. Our teams deal with high pressure, regulatory scrutiny, investigative complexity, and constant change. So the leadership style that works in a sanctions escalation isn’t the same one that works when mentoring a junior analyst writing their first SAR. That’s why I put together this visual summary of 9 leadership styles commonly found in financial crime teams — each with its strengths, each valuable in the right moment. Here are a few reflections: 🔹 Crisis Leaders shine when fast decisions are needed. 🔹 Visionary Leaders push AML into the future with data, AI and innovation. 🔹 Democratic Leaders bring investigators, sanctions SMEs and KYC together. 🔹 Servant Leaders protect the team from burnout — something our industry rarely talks about. 🔹 Coaching Leaders turn juniors into future investigators, analysts and managers. 🔹 Transformational Leaders drive the big programmes that reshape entire compliance frameworks. 💬 If you manage people, or aspire to, which leadership style feels most like you? And which one would you like to develop next? I’m genuinely curious — the mix of styles across our industry is one of the things that makes AML so interesting. 👇 Graphic attached #AML #Leadership #FinancialCrime #Compliance #FinCrimeAgent #TeamManagement #CareerDevelopment

Compliance doesn't slow businesses down. Bad systems do. Manual reviews. Disconnected tools. Alerts that require a human to touch every single one. That's where compliance teams get buried — and where businesses become exposed. Now imagine this instead: ✅ 95% of AML alerts auto-cleared ✅ No large compliance team required to achieve it ✅ Full audit trail — always live, always ready ✅ Every decision documented automatically This isn't a product claim. This is a live result from an operator running on RemitSo. What makes it possible: 👤 Real-time KYC and identity verification 📊 AML rules and transaction monitoring ⚠️ Sanctions screening across 40,000+ records 🧾 SAR auto-generation and audit logs One engine. Always on. Built into the platform — not connected to it. Because regulators don't ask what you planned to do. They ask what you can prove you did.
