Taken together, these are extraordinary levels of long-term investment into a place already recognised globally for deep-tech, discovery and translational research. Over the coming decades, Cambridge will continue to shape industries, technologies and scientific breakthroughs that reach far beyond the city itself. But what is particularly powerful about this moment is the opportunity to think not only about the infrastructure of innovation, but also about the infrastructure of participation that must sit beneath it. ❓Who grows up feeling that these spaces belong to them too? ❓Who sees science, engineering and technology not as something distant, but as part of their own future identity and potential? ❓Who develops the confidence, curiosity and sense of belonging needed to participate in this economy long-term? Trinity College Cambridge recognise these questions and are responding to them. Their ambition for Cambridge Science Park is exceptional not simply because of scale, but because of the recognition that world-leading innovation ecosystems must also invest in inclusion, engagement and long-term societal participation if they are to remain sustainable and globally competitive ⭐ At Cambridge Science Centre, this is increasingly the space we are orientating around, connecting children and communities not just to science concepts, but to the real systems, industries, infrastructure and people shaping the future around them. That is exactly the kind of long-term, high-value investment the Oxford-Cambridge Growth Corridor was made for. The Corridor is already home to some of the world's most innovative companies, top talent, and ground breaking research. With the right backing, it could become the Silicon Valley of Europe, contributing £78bn to our economy by 2035. But like many parts of the UK, its potential has been held back by poor connectivity and barriers to building. That is why we have doubled funding to £800 million, investing in road and rail links to connect people to jobs, backing a new Cancer Research Hospital in Cambridge to accelerate life-saving innovation, and working with the Environment Agency to remove obstacles to sustainable development, unlocking thousands of new homes alongside schools, workplaces, shops and laboratories. Through stability, investment and reform, we are building a stronger, more prosperous Britain, and the Oxford-Cambridge Corridor is showing what that looks like in practice.

We’re ambitious about where this goes next. We want people around the table who will challenge us, champion us, open doors, think differently and help shape what comes next. So who are we looking for? In 2028, QuantWare's 10k qubit processors will deliver more compute for many applications than every classical computer on Earth today. Combined. The capital is in. QuantWare just closed a $178M Series B with Intel Capital (Intel's venture arm) and IQT. KiloFab, their (world's first) dedicated open-architecture quantum fab, will come online later this year. QuantWare is already the largest supplier of commercial QPUs, shipping to >50 customers. KiloFab will 20x their production. Hardware in the field. Fab in the ground. Industrial quantum is on. Tamara Sword shared thisOne of my favourite questions to ask tech founders is: where did it all begin? The answers almost always trace back to those early years. A science lab kit for Christmas. A BBC Micro at school. For me, it was a Commodore 64 and a marvellously accessible programming language called BASIC. At the time, those journey-defining moments feel like they just ✨happen✨ . But of course they don't. Someone has to create the right conditions - the space, the access, the spark that makes a young person think: I could do something with this. That's exactly what Cambridge Science Centre does so brilliantly. And I'm honoured to have joined their Board of Trustees, alongside two other new trustees: Jimmy Doherty and Ayeisha Kone-Massouma. The Centre brings science to life for young people across the region, many of whom might otherwise miss out on that first spark. It's my belief that the Cambridge cluster in twenty years will be defined by the little fires of imagination we help ignite today. If you're not one of their 350k users, quick primer: Promptfoo built the open-source tools for automated security testing and red-teaming AI systems, way before the market realised that security is the last mile challenge of enterprise AI adoption. With this acquisition, building trust in AI agents and systems is about to be recognised as an engineering problem. One which Promptfoo & OpenAI together can solve at massive speed and scale. No company gets to this point without the right investors backing early and well. Kudos Charlene Chen and Insight Partners — this is what great looks like. #onwards #clientnews

Falling launch costs, unlimited solar energy, and the natural cooling of space are driving a new wave of experimentation. What was once sci‑fi is turning into a strategic priority for the sector. As Steve Collar puts it: “Elon is always years ahead of the technology and the reality, but that doesn’t mean that he’s wrong […] The good part is you have unlimited and efficient access to solar and… space is really cold. Sometimes what your team or business needs from Marketing support is help getting out of the weeds and looking at the big picture again. If getting a fresh perspective sounds daunting, please don't be afraid. Here's three ways I make the process easy, fun, and reassuring: 1. Gentle questions. No military-style interview techniques here. I want to find out why you're doing things the way you are and what you feel hasn't been working. 2. Positivity over criticism. There’s probably great work happening already. Together, we'll look at what is working, what isn’t and what can be improved. No one needs to be torn down when they're already overloaded. 3. Let's bring back the fun. We'll crack ideas open beyond the data to find your creative spark again. What makes your teams light up, and how do we put efficient, repeatable processes in place to make that happen? You can call it an audit, a health check, a diagnosis. But at its heart, it's a marketing framework to discover what you could be doing better, what you could cut out, and where I can help you make those things happen. Tamara Sword liked thisQuantum computing has advanced more in the past two years than it did in the previous decade, with European startups playing a central role. After spending the past months speaking with founders, researchers and investors across the ecosystem, I have summarised the advancements of the sector and mapped the companies building across the quantum stack. Large parts of the science have been proven, and the capital has unlocked (private investment up 6x in a year to $12.6bn, on top of ~$60bn in national commitments). With both in place the engineering race is now on. Europe has meaningful companies across every layer of the stack. The talent behind them comes from world-leading quantum research groups at Oxford, Cambridge, ETH Zurich, TU Delft, Innsbruck, Munich, Paris, and more. When I started this podcast, it was because I wanted to share the stories of truly inspiring women. I was building a business and I was struggling to find role models. I wrote a wish list of the guests I would most love to be on the show and Louise was on that list. Two years later, releasing the episode feels like a pinch me moment. They say you shouldn't meet your heroes because you'll be disappointed, but that couldn't be further from the truth here. Louise has been a pillar of support to me and given so much time and energy into helping me build my new business and I couldn't be more grateful. 💰 What does it actually mean to teach a kid the value of money and why does it matter before age six? GoHenry is the prepaid debit card and financial education app used by millions of families worldwide. Louise's journey started in the most relatable way possible: as a single mum of two, watching her kids rack up iTunes downloads without any real grasp of what they were spending - or why it mattered. That small, everyday frustration turned into a mission. Louise went on to build GoHenry into a multi-million-pound global company, raising millions in funding along the way. But she didn't stop at the product. Backed by research showing that children start forming their spending habits as young as six, Louise took her case to Downing Street and the House of Lords - campaigning for financial education to be taken seriously at a national level. That work paid off: financial education will become mandatory in UK primary schools from 2028.
