  • 🌾 Every pouch of rice starts in a field. But how do we ensure that field has a sustainable future? This #WorldSustainabilityDay, we are celebrating our Associates who are working to build a more sustainable rice supply chain from farm to fork. Through our Raising Rice Right platform, we are investing $20 million (USD) between 2020 and 2030 to help rice farmers implement and scale climate-smart agriculture practices around the world. In our latest feature, our Global Food Sustainable Sourcing Lead Inge Jacobs shares her journey working with farmers across three continents to drive change: 💧 Water & emissions reductions: Deploying practices like “alternate wetting and drying” in the US which can help to reduce irrigation water and methane emissions. 👩🌾 Empowering women: Training over 1,400 farmers in Thailand - 66% of whom are women - through the Sustainable Aromatic Rice Initiative. 📈 Building more resilient livelihoods: Helping farmers lower costs, secure yields, and future-proof their farms. As Inge says: "The practices are proven and ready to scale, but to reach the full potential – it takes coordinated effort. We all have to join hands across the food industry.” 👉 You can read the full feature here: https://lnkd.in/eVWF2ieK #proudlyMars #RaisingRiceRight #SustainableAgriculture

  • Solo meals are reshaping what people expect from food - and convenience can no longer come at the expense of nutrition.   Our research found that 64% of Gen Z and Millennials wish healthy solo meals were easier and more convenient to cook – and 57% refuse to choose between enjoyment and nutrition.   The answer isn’t simply more meals for one. It’s redefining what convenience delivers.   At Mars Food & Nutrition, we’re designing for how people actually eat today - bringing together taste, ease, enjoyment and nutrition, while making nutrients such as fibre easier to fit into the foods people already love. It's about making every meal matter. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eK44rqFC   #KeepFibreOnThePlate #proudlyMars #MakingMealsMatter

  • Convenience shouldn’t mean compromise. People want meals that fit busy lives, taste great and deliver nutritionally.   Our research found that 69% of Gen Z and Millennials in the US and UK would choose healthier solo meals more often if they were quick and low effort. And 57% don't want to choose between enjoyment and nutrition. At Mars Food & Nutrition, we’re evolving our portfolio around how people eat today - bringing taste, convenience and nutrition together. Guided by our Mars Food & Nutrition Criteria, we’re adding more vegetables, whole grains and legumes to products across our portfolio. That approach comes to life in products like our Ben’s Original Lunch Bowls in the UK and our Tasty Bite Organic Madras Lentils in the US. That’s what Making Meals Matter is all about: helping more people enjoy fulfilling, nutritious and delicious meals - without compromise. As we mark #WorldFoodDay, this year’s theme – Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow. – is a powerful reminder that the solutions we create now will shape how people eat for generations to come.  How we eat is changing. But one thing has not: the importance of a nourishing, delicious meal. Yet busy schedules can make preparing a healthy meal feel out of reach, leaving too many people feeling they must compromise on taste, nutrition or convenience.  The food industry has both a responsibility and an opportunity to change that. At Mars Food & Nutrition, that belief is at the heart of our Making Meals Matter platform. We are innovating around how people really live and eat, creating solutions that help make fulfilling, nutritious and delicious meals more accessible – whether they are shared with family and friends or enjoyed in a quiet moment alone.  For us, innovation means turning real human needs into better everyday food experiences – proving that convenience, taste and nutrition can work together, without compromise.  This World Food Day, let’s turn today’s ideas into tomorrow’s nourishment – and make every meal matter, however and wherever it is enjoyed.  https://lnkd.in/eGBNkGBy   #MakingMealsMatter #proudlyMars #WorldFoodDay #InnovateTodayNourishTomorrow

  • Getting more fibre into your meals can sound complicated. But it doesn’t have to be. Our research among Millennials and Gen Z in the UK and US found that while 69% know fibre is important to their health, more than half (51%) say they probably don’t get enough of it. At Mars Food & Nutrition, we want to help close that gap by making it easier for people to enjoy nutritious meals every day. That’s why we’re evolving our portfolio to include more sources of fibre, including wholegrains, legumes and vegetables. Because getting more fibre on the plate shouldn’t mean making mealtimes more complicated. What would help you keep fibre on the plate? https://lnkd.in/eK44rqFC   #KeepFibreOnThePlate #proudlyMars #MakingMealsMatter

  • How can innovation help shape the future of food? As consumer needs and expectations continue to evolve, innovation is critical to creating food that not only tastes great, but responds to what people are looking for from their meals. Our Global VP of R&D, Karina Zimerfeld, recently sat down with FoodNavigator to discuss some of the trends and technologies influencing the future of the food industry, from the growing focus on health and nutrients like fibre to the rise of personalised nutrition and the potential of AI. At Mars Food & Nutrition, our innovation approach starts with the consumer. By combining deep consumer insight with culinary science and technologies, we’re delivering tasty, healthy and convenient options that work for different lifestyles. It's all part of our work to evolve our portfolio to meet people where they are today, while looking ahead to what they may want and need tomorrow. It’s about making every meal matter. • A solo meal can feel like self-care. But when convenience is prioritised, is nutrition being left behind? Our new research found that 53% of Gen Z and Millennials across the US and UK say eating healthily when cooking or eating for one feels harder than it should. And our choices shift: 32% opt for quicker or easier meals when eating alone, while 25% are more likely to reach for comfort foods. But convenience, comfort and nutrition shouldn’t have to compete.   At Mars Food & Nutrition, we’re evolving our portfolio around the way people really eat today – adding more vegetables, whole grains and legumes to help make tasty, accessible and healthy meals easier to prepare and enjoy, while helping keep nutrients like fibre on the plate. Because a meal for one shouldn’t mean settling for less. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eK44rqFC   #KeepFibreOnThePlate #proudlyMars #MakingMealsMatter

  • From a perfect match to 500,000 meals!   At the start of the baseball season, our brand Ben’s Original™ and professional baseball player Ben Rice teamed up over something pretty simple: a shared name. We kicked things off with a nod to Ben’s #22 jersey, donating 22,000 meals to Share Our Strength and No Kid Hungry. And as Ben's season gained momentum, so did our mission. Today, we’re proud to share that together, we’ve helped provide kids facing hunger with access to up to 500,000 meals! A shared name brought us together. A shared commitment to Making Meals Matter made it mean so much more.   Now that’s a season worth celebrating! • Solo meals are becoming increasingly common among Gen Z and Millennials, with people seeking out moments of relaxation and comfort. But our research released today as part of our Fibre Fit campaign highlights how nutritional habits can change when we eat meals alone. For people across the UK and US, 32% choose quicker or easier meals when eating solo, while 25% are more likely to reach for comfort foods. Consumption of key nutrients like fibre are particularly affected. While 69% of people say fibre is important to their health, only 24% prioritise fibre when preparing a solo meal.   At Mars Food & Nutrition, we want to help make it easier for fibre to stay on the plate, even when convenience is the priority. Because understanding how people actually eat today is key to how we can help make every meal matter. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/em-5ag67   #KeepFibreOnThePlate #MakingMealsMatter #proudlyMars
