Wag.com Takes the Heavy Lifting out of Pet Ownership

Quidsi, the parent company to ecommerce sites Diapers.com and Soap.com, is now going to the dogs—and cats, and birds, fish, reptiles, gerbils and other small domestic livestock. This week the company announced the launch of its new site, Wag.com, catering to pet owners who would rather order up their pet supplies online than lug those large sacks of dog food and kitty litter home from the local market.

The new site opened its doors with 10,000 SKUs of pet-related items: not just food but treats, toys, grooming supplies, clothing and pet health products.

McDonald's Smoothies Take Their Lumps in Promoted Tweet Campaign

McDonald’s has a very effective Twitter program in place, and they use it to great effect, both to get people talking about their new menu items and campaigns and to add a very personal level of customer care when things go wrong.

But things don’t always work out so well. Right before the July 4th holiday, McDonald’s laid down some money for a promoted Tweet campaign around a new flavor in its Smoothie line, the Mango Pineapple version.

Kimberly-Clark Lets Walmart Shoppers Use Mobile to Earn 'Cars 2' Merchandise

Paper products brand Kimberly-Clark is sending Walmart shoppers on a mobile-fueled race through the aisles with a promotion that taps into the appeal of Disney Pixar’s “Cars 2” animated feature.

The campaign, which will run until the end of July, uses the free CheckPoints check-in smartphone app. Users who download the app and then check in upon entering any U.S. Walmart store will be notified that they can earn points toward “Cars 2” promotional items by scanning the on-pack stickers on a wide range of K-C products, including Pull-Ups training pants, Huggies diapers, Kleenex tissues, Viva and Scott paper towels and Cottonelle bathroom tissue.
