What's Happened To Cutluxe Fit & Finish QA???
CUTLUXE SUPPORT did reach out to me and further apologized for any actual or perceived lapse on their end specific to my dissatisfied purchases of their Santoku 7. They offered and I accepted a replacement Santoku that was satisfactory and quality-wise was in line with my two previous purchases. It was reinforcing to know that they protective of their quality reputation and acted professionally in their support response. First off, I have given Cutluxe two previous enthusiastic 5 STAR reviews for a 5" Santoku and 3.5 Paring. So, when I ordered the 7" Santoku I expected the same level of quality, but instead got what was a knife that should have been dumped in the reject bucket and never left the factory. Yes, it was that bad. The metal to wood through the tang to butt top to bottom was 1) Raised 2) Gapped 3) Rough (burred) 4) Sharp Edges and impossible to hold. I quickly alerted Cutluxe Support and @ their request send pics. A couple days later I received a canned response email saying " sorry the item didn't meet my expectations." Really? That's it. Here is the kicker. I returned the first and ordered a replacement. The second knife was better, BUT the BUTT metal was raised and caught my hand in the normal grip. NOT flush at all. I returned it.

It is beyond me how Cutluxe makes and sells such a high quality knife for a fraction of what other quality knife makers charge. In 2016 I bought (from Amazon, as a present) a Zwilling twin 4 star Santoku knife for $99.95. Last week I bought a Cutluxe 7" Santoku knife for $39.19
In fact I bought 5 Cutluxe knives for 179.29 (plus tax). Just an amazing value
