Annie Farmer has repeatedly spoken out both about her own experiences of grooming and sexual abuse at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell and the failures of the Justice Department in their handling of the case after her sister, Maria Farmer, bravely blew the whistle on Epstein and others in 1996. Annie received her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, completing a dissertation examining the systemic effects of post-traumatic stress disorder. She has had the privilege of working with survivors of several forms of sexual violence in multiple clinical settings, including the private practice she cofounded, Pivot Psychology Austin.
