What does it take to rehabilitate the lighting system of a runway with a unique history and mission? AVCON’s Carl S. Johnson II - ACE, will explore that question at the 2026 Illuminating Engineering Society Aviation Lighting Committee (IESALC) Fall Technology Meeting during his presentation, “Rehabilitation of the SKID STRIP.” The presentation will examine the history of the SKID STRIP runway at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, experiences from the field, and key considerations behind the rehabilitation project.
