Strong partnerships help create stronger communities. Concern Housing is grateful to The Home Depot Foundation for its generous support of two important initiatives: helping advance new housing at Concern Logan and, through its Veteran Housing Grants Program, funding critical repairs at Surf Vets Place. The Foundation’s commitment to veteran housing is helping us make important improvements to the place our veteran residents call home, while its support of Concern Logan helps move another vital housing community forward. Thank you to The Home Depot Foundation for investing in our mission and the communities we serve. #AffordableHousing #SupportiveHousing #VeteranHousing #Veterans #CommunityImpact #ConcernHousing

Concern Housing was proud to be featured on Beyond the Frontline, a podcast by The Transitioning Warrior, for a conversation about Cyclone Bagels and the mission behind the shop. The episode explores how supportive housing, employment, and community connection can work together to support Veterans who have experienced homelessness. Jim Mutton, Associate Executive Director of Concern Housing, and Joaselyn Cruz, Director of Operations at Cyclone Bagels, discussed how Cyclone Bagels creates opportunities for Veterans while serving the Coney Island community. Cyclone Bagels is more than a business. It is one example of Concern Housing’s commitment to building stability, connection, and opportunity. Thank you to Donna Hoffmeyer and The Transitioning Warrior for helping share this story. Earlier this month, nearly 40 Concern Housing staff members attended the Annual Supportive Housing Conference hosted by the Supportive Housing Network of New York, joining supportive housing professionals, advocates, tenants, and partners from across the state for a day of learning, connection, and shared commitment to strengthening communities. Concern’s Executive Director, Ralph Fasano, and Medication Counselor, Oscar Gamble, participated as workshop presenters, contributing to important conversations across the supportive housing field. The day also included a uniquely New York moment, as conference attendees came together while coverage of the New York Knicks celebration was streamed at the venue. Thank you to the Supportive Housing Network of New York for bringing the sector together and continuing to champion the impact of supportive housing. #SupportiveHousing #AffordableHousing #EndHomelessness #HousingSolutions #ConcernHousing

From Coney Island to Long Island. Yesterday, we brought a Cyclone Bagels Surprise to four veterans at a local gym — a small moment of appreciation that brought people together. Thank you to Concetta G. Spirio for making this one possible. As a nonprofit-owned business, Cyclone Bagels is part of a broader effort to support veterans through community, connection, and opportunity. Moments like this are simple — but meaningful. More to come. #ConcernHousing #Veterans #CommunityImpact #ThisIsConcern

Yesterday, we delivered a Cyclone Bagels Surprise to Diane — a veteran and Concern Housing resident — creating a small but meaningful moment of connection and appreciation. As a nonprofit-owned business, Cyclone Bagels is part of a broader effort to support veterans through employment, community, and opportunity. Moments like this reflect what that mission looks like in practice — simple, personal, and rooted in connection. More to come as we continue to build on this initiative. #ConcernHousing #Veterans #CommunityImpact #ThisIsConcern

We’re proud to feature Donna Hoffmeyer in our Cyclone Bagels Service Spotlight series. As a flight nurse based out of Ramstein Air Base in Germany, Donna flew missions during Bosnia and was part of the recovery team following the USS Cole bombing. Today, she continues her work in service as the founder of R.E.B.el LLC and The Transitioning Warrior, where she supports veterans through advocacy, coaching, consulting, and community programming. We recently had the opportunity to join Donna on the Transitioning Warrior Podcast — we look forward to sharing that conversation in the coming months. At Concern Housing, we’re committed to creating pathways for veterans both in and beyond the workplace, and we’re honored to highlight leaders like Donna who continue to make an impact. #ConcernHousing #Veterans #Leadership #CommunityImpact #ThisIsConcern
