Spaces designed to help people process intensity are becoming a more intentional part of the built environment. Sensory reset rooms, decompression lounges, and private spaces for breathing, crying, screaming, or simply regrouping are giving designers new ways to think about emotional release and recovery. As these spaces become more common, how can designers create environments that support the full range of human emotion, not just calm and productivity? Leave your thoughts on your experience designing spaces to process intensity in the comments below! Also, visit The Futures Source blog at https://ow.ly/lavs50ZT7ZL for more on the future of interior design and the built environment industry.

What does being part of IIDA look like? For Brandi K., IIDA, RID, President of the IIDA Tennessee Chapter, it means embracing leadership, staying adaptable, and building meaningful connections along the way. From championing authenticity and open-mindedness as a leader to staying curious about how lighting shapes the experience of a space, Brandi brings the same mindset to her career that she brings to her IIDA involvement: listen, learn, and keep moving forward. Her IIDA membership provides access to education, design events, professional connections, mentorship opportunities, and leadership experiences that have strengthened her career. And then there are the little things that make Brandi, well, Brandi: protecting her morning routine, spending time with her dogs, and apparently having very strong feelings about Diet Coke. 🥤 Interested in making the most of your IIDA membership? Keep exploring the opportunities, resources, and connections that make the IIDA community what it is. 👉 https://ow.ly/9RiE50ZR1YG
