Lyft hit the runway at New York Fashion Week 🍎. We partnered with LUAR for their SS27 show at the Unisphere in Queens to connect people to one of the most talked about designers in fashion. Hosting the show in Queens was awesome, but also provided a transportation challenge. There's a ton of research that shows that if event attendees have a hard time getting to (or particularly home from) an event, their satisfaction declines. The collaboration showed off the Lyft ecosystem in style: Models arrived in Lyft Black cars, VIPs were driven by TBR Global Chauffeuring chauffeurs, and guests continued to the afterparty via Citi Bikes wearing custom LUAR x Lyft helmets. Congratulations to the Lyft and LUAR teams on this activation for a luxurious crowd. It was an awesome display of our entire customer-obsessed ecosystem at work.

"The work was real, the stakes were real, and the trust the team put in me from day one was real." That's how one of our summer Lyfterns described their time at Lyft. It's also part of why Yello.co named us as one of the Top 100 Internship Programs list for 2026 🏆 Built on mentorship, high-impact projects, and community since 2016, our program turns summers into careers: 950+ Lyfterns have joined the company full-time, and nearly 10% of our technical team in North America started right where you'd be starting. Exciting news at Lyft 🚀 Michael Brous will be our next CFO, effective September 28. Michael knows Lyft inside and out. He’s spent nearly eight years in Lyft leadership (including three on David’s leadership team) across finance, strategy, growth and operations, most recently, as Head of Lyft Urban Solutions and Safety and Customer Care. With LUS, he ran one of our most complex businesses – 195,000+ bikes across 55 systems worldwide – making more bikes available to more riders, resulting in double-digit rides growth with strong margins and cash flows.    Our outgoing CFO Erin Brewer is retiring, and we want to share a huge thank you from everyone at Lyft. Her fingerprints are on so much of the progress we’ve made since she joined in 2023. We’re thrilled for her next chapter and grateful she’s sticking around to support through December as an advisor. 💕 Read more: https://lnkd.in/gXtez6Xp

We were just named on Fast Company's 2026 Best Workplaces for Innovators list. 🎉 This one's for our team — the ones who show up curious, challenge what’s possible, and aren't afraid to try something new. That spirit is what makes us Lyft. Because when innovators feel supported, that customer-obsessed thinking shows up in every product, every decision, and every ride. Proud to be recognized for the culture behind the innovation. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gYgH8rJS

Travel decisions happen in motion. Now, advertising can move with them. Lyft Ads and United Airlines have launched a new Dynamic Ads experience that brings adaptive travel context into the Lyft app for NYC riders. The creative feature compares estimated travel times to EWR and JFK based on a rider’s area at the beginning of their journey, pairing that information with United’s “BETTEWR” campaign at a moment when riders are actively thinking about how and where they travel. Lyft Ads’ Shane Dwyer and United’s Maggie Schmerin spoke with MediaPost about why that context matters: when advertising reflects where a rider is going, when they’re going and the decisions they’re making, ad experiences can feel more relevant and useful in the moment. It’s what makes mobility such a powerful environment for brands to connect with people with greater intent. Be on the lookout for more details on how to hear more from United and Lyft Ads onstage at Advertising Week New York next month, where they’ll detail how real-world movement can create new opportunities for brands. Fourteen years ago, Lyft set out with a mission to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. While a lot has changed since then, the heart of that mission continues to show up in how we serve people and communities. For our 14th Birthday Week, we celebrated by giving team members opportunities to experience the many small moments that keep Lyft moving. Through our Birthday Passport Challenge, team members completed 14 “stops” focused on serving and connecting and supporting our communities. Brian Aquart, Founder & President of Kingswood Forest, joined us for “Your Story Moves the World,” a conversation about recognizing the experiences that shape us and the value each person brings to their work. And at Birthday Link Ups across our offices, team members wrote notes of appreciation to drivers and packed back-to-school kits for young people supported by Covenant House International in New York City, San Francisco, and Toronto. Every stop has shaped Lyft’s journey. Fourteen years in, we’re just getting started.

I saw The Odyssey last week. The theater was packed. We all gasped at the Cyclops, chuckled at Circe's powers, marveled the Sirens' song, jumped when Scylla grabbed for Odysseus' men. It was a vivid reminder of the power of shared experiences-- and how much work people are willing to do to have them. What do I mean? In the first two weeks Lyft riders traveled over *100,000 miles* to see The Odyssey in theaters-- including some traveling more than 80 miles. And clearly people loved Christopher Nolan's decision to film in IMAX: the number of people who saw a movie on an 80-foot-wide screen rose by 79% from June. Hope you enjoyed the movie, the shared experience, and the ride.

A few weeks ago, I had a 50-minute Lyft ride from East Village to LaGuardia that stuck with me. After two days of an impactful conference and engaging meetings in NYC, I was the kind of tired where you just want a moment to yourself, you know? A chance to regather. But my Lyft driver Hammad had other ideas. He engaged. And so did I. We talked about life, injuries, Mixed Martial Arts, family, the economy. There was an age gap between us, but we talked like we'd known each other forever. He mentioned feeling "stuck" driving, but never once complained. He lit up talking about the people he meets. The ride flew by. What would've been just another airport run became something actually memorable. Listening. Being present. Not checking out when it would be easy to check out. But Hammad did more than that. He takes his situation and sees the best in it. He could just drive. Instead, he shows up, engages in real conversations, and finds meaning in meeting people. That's what made his day better. That's what made mine too. I know there are some great taxi stories out there. Tell me about your best taxi / rideshare conversation.
