We recently asked utility and infrastructure professionals across EMEA & APAC which trend they believe will have the biggest impact on utility infrastructure over the next decade. The answer? Grid modernization. With 46% of the vote, grid modernization ranked ahead of energy storage (22%), electrification (15%), and renewable integration (15%). The result reflects the realities utilities are facing across the region. Growing electricity demand, expanding renewable generation, and aging infrastructure are increasing the need for resilient, future-ready networks. While all four trends will influence the energy transition, the poll highlights a common perspective among industry professionals: modernizing the grid is a critical step toward enabling them all.
